By: Karl Schneider
Date: Monday, April 23, 2007
Source: Hollywood Reporter

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Warner Premiere will release a direct to DVD film, Get Smarter: Bruce and Lloyd Out of Control, which will be released 10 days after the feature film.

The story will at times cross over with the feature film and the direct-to-DVD movie might even recycle scenes from the feature.

The film will star Masi Oka and Nate Torrence, both of whom are also featured in the big screen adaptation.  Oka will play Bruce, a techie at spy agency CONTROL, while Torrence is Lloyd, a geeky analyst.

hmmmm.

This could work. It's certainly a CLEVER idea for a direct to video tie in.

It's going to all depend on the script, I think.

Strikes me as a bit like Rosencratz and Guildenstern was dead. I didn't like that play.

This is a excellent idea for a tie-in. Sort of like The Matrix Reloaded video games tying directly into the movie (Yeah, I know alot of people thought the sequels sucked. I don't care. I liked them!) It just depends on the theatrical being successful.

This has nothing to do with Get Smart but Masi Oka rocks as Hiro. Last nights episode was freaking awesome.

Ahh... I was hoping it was like the old TV show Get Smart with the main characters. >.>

Show is lame. Does it even matter when any of them die? And hmmm... so what if something terrible happens to the world... let's just have the nerdy asian dude go back in time and stop it. THAT makes it REAL suspensful, right?

Premise sounds like "Harold and Kumar" meets James Bond.
