Getting LOST IN TRANSLATION
By: Patrick SauriolDate: Monday, September 01, 2003
Sofia Coppola's third picture, LOST IN TRANSLATION, is just about here. Set to open in theaters on September 12, the film stars Bill Murray (THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS) and Scarlett Johansson (GHOST WORLD) as two Americans, one a Hollywood superstar, the other a wife of a photographer, who happen to meet by chance in a Japanese hotel bar. As the two become fast friends they explore Japanese culture, having odd encounters with the locals and in the process discovering little-known facts about themselves.
The film was written and directed by Sofia Coppola, the daughter of legendary director Francis Ford Coppola. The younger Coppola also helmed THE VIRGIN SUICIDES back in 1999 and LICK THE STAR in 1998.
We've got 10 still images from the film to share with you, as well as a link to the film's trailer and a link to preview a clip from the movie.
LOST IN TRANSLATION opens in select cities (Los Angeles, New York, Washington, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle) this coming Friday. The film will expand on September 19 and again on September 26.
Finally, you can always visit the movie's official website for more information.
