Electro (Jamie Foxx) has been cast in the new Amazing Spider-Man sequel. The Rhino (Paul Giamatti?) may be making an appearance as well. Now Norman Osborn has been cast. Here is the official word from The Hollywood Reporter:
“Oscar winner Chris Cooper has signed on to play Norman Osborn in Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for Columbia Pictures”.
Chris Cooper is an Academy Award winner (Adaptation) and was recently seen in The Muppets. The big question is, will Cooper become the Green Goblin Amazing 2 or will it be in the third installment? Better yet, will he have the cornrows?
The screenplay for Amazing Spider-Man 2 is by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Jeff Pinkner based on a previous draft by James Vanderbilt. The film will be produced by Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 returns May 2, 2014.

right o problems bere with that, and on another note remember what theh did with beast in X-men 3 ? i thought the dude that played him was to old not in shape and he turned out bad ass. same thing could happen here ..i just want to see J.F as electro i bet he's gonna be crazy, ..
Another meh casting for me. Keeps getting worse and worse. They better work on the story this time.
Chris Cooper is a fine actor, but I never would have thought of him for Norman Osbourne...but now that it's mentioned, I can see him doing it. I liked the story from the first one well enough, actually. My only gripe about it was "with great power comes great responsibility" was NEVER once uttered. Change what you want to, but HOW do you ignore Spidey's entire core for doing what he does?
Great bit of casting news. Cooper can NAIL crazy & menacing. Now I'm pumped for this movie.
This is the best casted role yet as far as new characters are concerned for this sequel. All the others haven't wowed me but they may yet prove themselves
Finally something good for Spider Man. This guy is a good actor, and looking at him, I think he could do a great job. I just hope this movie doesn't put me to sleep like the last one did.
No complaints from me. He is one of the high class actors you don't expect to see in a comic book superhero movie, like Gary Oldman in Nolan's Batman.
They need the real goblin outfit with the purple and not all power rangered out that was so bad. He will probably become goblin in the 3rd movie .

Dare I say I would have never thought of him but he's perfect? Though I must say that Green Goblin when he shows up might be CGI because I'm not sure this guy is going to be all that physical when it comes down to it. I'd love to see classic GG but we'll probably get Ultimate - which is still pretty cool. Better than Power Rangers Goblin.
