In an article mentioning the success that Sam Raimi, Robert Tapert and Senator International have had with the first release from their Ghost House Pictures company (specifically THE GRUDGE), Variety reveals a new horror project in development at the production company. In addition to the aforementioned 30 DAYS OF NIGHT adaptation that Ghost House continues to develop, there is also a new horror movie called DIBBUK BOX also being worked on.
The same screenwriter that delivered THE GRUDGE to Ghost House, Stephen Susco, will write the script for DIBBUK BOX, which itself is an original story that's uses an article that first appeared in the Los Angeles Times as its inspiration. Leslie Gornstein's "Jinx in a Box" article originally told the story of a antique wooden box that was bought on the online auction site eBay and that supposedly contains an evil spirit. In Gornstein's piece the cursed box was brought to America by a World War II Holocaust survivor, but in the film it will be sold to someone that accidentally purchases it and unwittingly places their family in grave jeopardy.
