I was suprised how much I enjoyed this movie when when my mother started watching it on TV when I was a kid. It is wonderfully made, very romantic but not in a silly, syrupy way. It's one of those older Hollywood films that does have a magical quality to them. I've enjoyed it a few more times since when it has popped up on cable.

I watched it as well after Kim was done with it in the office. It was great. I am not a Rex Harrison fan but I could have easily watched him play the Captain in a prequel before died. It was a great character.

Trate, always thought the same thing. Rex Harrison's portrayal of a refined, yet salty sea captain left me wondering what a liffe was likie before accidently killing himself in the house Mrs. Muir came to rent.

I loved this movie as a kid.  I can't wait to revisit.

There was also a short lived Ghost and Mrs. Muir tv series/ comedy back in the late 60's starring Hope Lange as Mrs. Muir and Edward Mulhare (Devon Miles on Knight Rider) as Capt. Gregg.

The program first ran on NBC from 1968-1969. The Ghost and Mrs. Muir moved to ABC after being cancelled and aired from 1969-1970, until ABC cancelled the the series.
