Sony Pictures has posted a ten second clip from GHOST RIDER on the offical site. The film stars Nicolas Cage, Wes Bentley, Eva Mendes, Matt Long, Sam Elliott, and Peter Fonda.

GHOST RIDER hits theaters on February 16, 2007.

I think Marvel just wanted to get a good image of Ghost Rider out for everyone to see. They backed this film up a long time and fans were getting nervous, so I think this was just to tease us and say "hey, we made Ghost Rider look like...Ghost Rider." I thought the clip was great! Ghost Rider looks awesome and I think Cage was an inspired choice to play the lead. I want to see the Penance Stare and his chains come to life (like Spawn's).

I'm not a real big Nicholas Cage fan, but he does play the "tortured soul" part very well and you need that for the Johnny Blaze role. Other than the toupe Cage wears, I like what I've seen from his performance. Hand in there Raithen, you may be surprised by Cage's performance because the role is right up his alley. Hey, I'm a glass half full kinda guy!

I'm with you wessmith...Cage is good as the tourtured soul for sure. Plus he is a comics fanboy, so hopefully that means he has some perspective and care for the material. I was never really a GR fan, but I will see this movie (most likely). For me, it's great to see another Marvel character come to life.

I dunno... I've never been quite convinced by Nick Cage in any role he's played. He always seems to be playing... Nick Cage, actor-for-hire.

I think there are a lot of younger, more talented actors out there who could fit the role.

But.... I will give him a chance to impress me. ;-) (Isn't that nice of me?)

actually its not Cage I hated in the teaser, its the other actors! The reporter interviewing the lame eye-witness, the dialog was HORRIBLE: "his face was a skull...and it was on fire!" "On fire?" asked the reporter, "like [weird sound effect and hand motions]" says the eye-witness. (ouch, painful) Sam Elliott to Cage: "You all right?" "yeah I'm good... I feel like my skull's on fire but I'm good!" (LOL) heheh...
