More good news, Another fav. from my childhood I'm looking forward to. I hope they keep all of the pseudo-super hero stuff that made this Elite anti-terrorist team cool. i.e. flame thrower specialist, electronic specialist, cool tech, and Plans from a masked madman to control the globe.
YO-JOE

As long as they don't end up doing what it appears they're doing with JLA: no Teeny-bopper-lookin' stars. Hit a military base, take a look at what the 'lifers' look like.

Most of the Joes should be late-20s at the youngest, as most should be 'seasoned' troops who've been there and done that and are now being plucked to be the "best of the best of the best," to steal from Will Smith...

WarCry you're one hundred percent correct. Now if only they heed this advice then we may get a good picture.

This is great, until read the comments. I am sure Hollywood will jack it up put some OC actors in it. Please have people worth wild. One suggestion, give Kurt Russell the part of Gen Hawk and Gary Oldmen Cobra Commander, I think they would be great for the parts. Oh and please have Snake-eyes, Scarlett, Stalker, and the orginal in it. No Lady Jaye or Flint, I was glad when she got killed, can't stand her.

The 80's Joe will, I'm sure, make a fun movie, but who's with me when I say I want guys like Gerard Butler from 300, with a crew cut, tight beard, in an orange jumpsuit, driving his sand vehicle in a scene straight out of "Curse of the Mummy's Tomb"???...or a killer shark fight, or a clash with a white tiger...(I guess you know where I'm going. Am I dating myself or do more people out there want some 60's and 70's G.I. Joe as well???? C'MON, WHO'S WITH ME!!???

Just look at the Marvel Comics run and learn from that and the movie will be good. Deviate from that and we are in trouble. I have hopes for this one, but I must admit I am scared. Big 80's Joe fan here. Do it justice please?

I had posted my dream cast breakdown once before, and it bears worth repeating here:

G.I. JOE:

Duke - Thomas Jane

Flint - Michael Biehn

Lady Jaye - Carrie-Anne Moss

Roadblock - Michael Clarke Duncan

Snake Eyes - Ray Park

Scarlett - Jennifer Garner

COBRA:

Cobra Commander - Gary Oldman

Destro - Michael Dorn

Baroness - Maggie Q

Storm Shadow - Will Yun Lee

Xamot/Tomax - Twins from The Matrix Reloaded

I think the identity of Cobra Commander should be kept a secret until the end credits of the movie. Be hard to do in this day and age but it would be fun to try and guess who's under the hood.

Honestly, people are getting some loftly ideas about what this film will consist of. Thinnk like Michael Bey hiring Peter Cullen for Transformers. Gary Oldman? Kurt Russell? Michael Biehn? Carrie-Anne Moss? That's a bunch of wish-fulfillment. Aside from the previously rumored Mark Walhberg, it's hard to imagine they'd go reaching for the homerun of type-casting.

For those who don't know, this won't be the "America's daring, highly trained special mission force", but given Sommer's history with the fantastic, this will be quite action-oriented and less military/spy-fiction that I think it should be.

Clearly, if they are going for Walberg for Duke, they're going more at the cartoon angle and straying away from the better put together comic. One can only hope that they'd bring Larry Hama at least for consulting.

But I trust Sommers. Frankly, he hasn't let me down yet. Whatever he has in mind, I think'll work. At least from what I'm hearing now(Snake-Eyes/Storm Shadow a main plot).

Yo Joe! Who cares who's in it just make the movie. Hollywood is too stupid these days to make a perfect movie. Just toss a bunch of money for sp f/x and seats and DVD's will be bought.
