I love that the new Spidey is delving into these villains but Giamatti isn't exactly the voice nor the look I was expecting for the Rhino.

Still looking forward to seeing the Rhino come to life

Yeah Giamatti is NOT the Rhino. Seriously? I mean no way. Maybe Peter Stormare would be good, he does evil well and has the natural European accent.

I think it will be based on Ultimate Spidey, wasnt Rhino an american with a suit in that?

Yeah, this is a real What the Californication?

It could be he will be CGed to a huge size or in a suit.  But it still doesn't answer the question of why such a crowded house of a second movie.

I was just thinking as I read: "Felicity Jones?  That sound like a role already, not the actress."

Clearly I was thinking Felicia Hardy.

The first one Amazingly boring. With them stacking so much into this, I have a feeling it will fail to have any real substance and just throw images at the screen. They rebooted this franchise way too soon. It needs to rest peacefully for a while...long enough for it to go back to Marvel so we can get a truly Spectacular Spider-Man.

Love Paul Giamatti.  He's always on his game.  He could easily handle playing the villain.  The first Spiderman had something to prove, because it had to tell the same story while delivering something new and fresh.  I think Andrew Garfield won a lot of people over with his performance, and the plot was pretty damned good.  Far from perfect?  Sure, but as with Paul Giamatti as the villain, it adds a different dimension to the material.  This isn't an attempt to make an exact duplicate of the original material.  Movies need to be made like movies.

hfc, that different dimension would be the Twilight Zone.  Giamatti is a great actor, but as the Rhino?  Only if they decide to cast Woody Allen as Spiderman.  Rhino's a big thick monster who makes his living running into brick walls head-first, he's not a deep thinker.  Giamatti is not only too intelligent but also too short.  Rhino is a good idea, muscle hired by whoever the chief villain is, but I'd probably look into the wrestling ring for someone to fill the suit, WWE's Matt "Tenzai" Bloom or maybe TNA's Hernandez would do it quite nicely.

Put Megan Fox in as Black Cat and I'm there.
