okay just watched the animated ultimate spider man, (i know it's not that good but i still watch. i just haven't cancelled the dvr set up), and it was their version of rhino. it had a kid who was picked on by flash and he wanted revenge. oh and he interned at oscorp so he had access to an ooze that turns him into the rhino. so having giamatti cast makes sense if they go the mutated route. i don't know the history well enough to know how much that deviates from the actual origin story. sounds like this isn't the most popular route as far as story goes.

Yes because what this film series really needs is another mutated, misunderstood soul. Thats right.

Because it is not like the main character is not the victim of genetic mutation? Because it is not like his last main villian was the subject of genetic mutation. Right? This is an ENTIRELY new angle and I am glad to hear they are taking an original approach to.....GENETIC MUTATION.

Christ, put the guy in a suit that is supposedly industructable. He is out to rob banks and make money which is what RHINO does.

I bet they are going with the version from the video game, basically The Lizard with rhino DNA.

OKay here is an out of box idea. How abuot the Rhino suit be one of Stark's unused designs? Or tech based on Stark's work. HEY look an idea to begin bridging the f-ing universes. WHY NOT SONY YOU MONEY GRUBBING F*CKTARDS!

and i forgot to mention when the kid, who was a stereotypical smarty weakling with glasses, lost his intelligence when he grew into the rhino. very convenient. what was the original backstory for him? i always just saw him as a secondary villain, the muscle for the main baddy. giamatti deserves better than being a secondary villain.

Exactly... Giamatti could easily fill the shoes of any one of a dozen Marvel characters, but RHINO??!!!

And as much as Rhino IS a Spidey villain, he has had just as many run-ins with the Hulk!

Maybe the ladies like him, but I'm sorry, I can't handle the skinny English kid with the pompadour as Spiderman (worse than Maguire, even worse than Norton as Banner/The Hulk).  The scene in the last Spiderman flick where Parker gets back at the bully in the gym, was embarassing (I had to look away).  Had Garfield ever touched a basketball prior to that?  I know Marvel plans to make billions of dollars by giving us another Superhero blockbuster every few months until the end of time but I'm going to be selective about which ones I watch.  Spiderman is currently on my must to avoid list.
