DarkHorizons' Garth Franklin recently talked with Australian special effectsartist Karen Ansel. Ansel has worked on the Hulk film and This Month'sMen in Black 2. She offered some insights into the technical aspectsof both films.
Ansel did a lot of work onthe giant worm sequences in MIIB. Ansel told Franklin that of allthings the most debated aspect of the giant worm's visual appearance wasits "Moisture factor". Ansel also says the way the worm sequenceappears in the film is pretty much the way it appeared originally in thescript. She said, "The opening sequence, despite changes to the initialenvironments (the original script set the street scene underwater), hasremained pretty much the same from its inception and details such as thegiant worm's circular teeth were decided right from the beginning."
Ansel was not able to tellmuch about the Hulk. She did drop a small hint about the appearanceof the CGI rendered jade giant. She told Franklin, that the skin colorand translucency of the computer rendered Hulk would be "Much more intricatethan anyone expects."
