
Singer-turned-actor Tyrese Gibson told SCI FI Wire that he still hasn't committed to starring in a new film version of the Marvel Comics Luke Cage superhero franchise, but that he's "extremely interested" in it. Speaking in downtown Los Angeles on Aug. 26 on the set of his next film, the Michael-Bay-directed movie version of the Transformers toy and animated franchise, Gibson said: "They're doing a rewrite on the film. And [director] John Singleton's got me at the top of his list. I'm not full-on committed to the project, but it's something that I'm extremely interested in. Met up with [producer] Neal Moritz a few times about it. Met up with [executive producer and former Marvel chief] Avi Arad a few times about it. And, you know, we'll see what happens.
