Director Terry Gilliam and Heath Ledger are reteaming once again for a new fantasy on THE IMAGINARIUM OF DOCTOR PARNASSUS, says Variety. The thespian joins Christopher Plummer, Tom Waits, Lily Cole, Andrew Garfield and Verne Troyer for Samuel Hadida's Davis Films production company. Gilliam co-wrote the screenplay with Charles McKeown. Production is set to begin in December in London before moving to Vancouver next year.

Plot Concept: Pic is a modern-day fantasy adventure that centers on Dr. Parnassus (Plummer), who has the gift of guiding the imaginations of others. With his traveling theater troupe, Parnassus offers audience members the chance to transcend reality by passing through a magical mirror.

That's too deep to get under.

I think the possibilities here are endless. You can definitely conjure up a good adventure based on someone's imagination. I would think that someone's imagination is going to go wild and out of control and they have to figure a way out and back to reality.

Leave it to Terry Gilliam to come up with an original, crazy idea for a movie. Adventures of Baron Munchausen was and still is an underrated and underappreciated gem of a film. Doctor Parnassus will either be an amazing piece of cinema or a gigantic misfire, but since more of Gilliam's films sound that way on paper I will give him the benefit of the doubt and look forward to this.

It's never boring with Gilliam...

Gilliam's one of the best filmmakers out there, and "out there"! I REALLY wish we could have seen his vision of The Watchmen, though I am looking forward to Zach's.
This plot has Gilliam written all over it. Hope it works. Still haven't gotten around to The Brothers Grimm. Need to get on that.
