The Giver arrives 8-15-14
Here is the second official trailer for The Giver. Having read the original book by Lois Lowry, it looks as if there might be a few changes. The book is worth the read Maniacs! We will keep you up to date on the film.

The Plot: December is the time of the annual Ceremony at which each twelve-year-old receives a life assignment determined by the Elders. Jonas watches his friend Fiona named Caretaker of the Old and his cheerful pal Asher labeled the Assistant Director of Recreation. But Jonas has been chosen for something special. When his selection leads him to an unnamed man-the man called only the Giver-he begins to sense the dark secrets that underlie the fragile perfection of his world. Given his lifetime assignment at the Ceremony of Twelve, Jonas becomes the receiver of memories shared by only one other in his community and discovers the terrible truth about the society in which he lives.

The Giver features Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep, Katie Holmes, Alexander Skarsgård, and Taylor Swift.

The Giver arrives August 15th, 2014.

Looks interesting.  Will probably give this a shot at the theater.

So...someone decided to stop waiting for a remake of Logan's Run and just make one themselves with a few slight differences.

At first I thought they were remaking the old '80s sci-fi movie The Gyver, but just changed the spelling.  Ha!

I'll see this because I remember enjoying the book when I was younger.  But I didn't realize the story was an intense action journey. I guess I need to re-read it as an adult.

When the video is removed, could you please remove the link to the article?

blankczech 6/6/2014 9:56:48 AM's what I do when that happens.  Move your cursor to the top of the page and open another window on your browser. Type The Giver Trailer 2014 in the address bar of that new window and hit enter.  If you are using Firefox, Chrome or I.E. you will then be given search results which you can click on to see the trailer.  After you are done watching the trailer, come back here and comment on it.

Of course when you give people the freedom to choose...they choose wrong.
