We were all pulling for him and last night it happened. Late actor Heath Ledger collected the Academy Award for his turn as The Joker in phenomenal superhero movie 'The Dark Knight'. Ledger's family was on hand to collect the "Best Supporting Actor" trophy, which will be held for his young daughter.
The film collected a second Oscar in the category of "Sound Editing".

The movie also picked up two more trophies on Saturday at the 56th annual Motion Picture Sound Editors Golden Reel Awards, according to Variety.
'The Dark Knight' won in the "Music in a Feature Film" and the "Sound Effects and Foley in a Feature Film" categories.
And it wasn't the only bat-film to win at that event.
'Batman : Gotham Knight' also collected a Golden Reel Award in the "Direct to Video" category.

We haven't been able to confirm this, but a fan writing in to the Playlist blog claims that Jon Favreau ruled out Emily Blunt as The Black Widow in 'Iron Man 2' last night during the televised Oscar festivities.
The director allegedly chatted up E! during their post-Oscar show. He supposedly told the cable channel that Blunt definitely won't be in the movie, due to the previously reported scheduling difficulties. According to the report, he did not mention a replacement. Favreau was also reportedly vague on Mickey Rourke, saying the actor hadn't been cast but he is a fan.

'American Gladiator' and professional wrestler Matt Morgan had a podcast chat with FeelThePain.net recently. In it he mentioned a couple of comic-related projects he may be involved in.

Morgan, who appeared on the show as "Beast", said that he's had conversations with the producers of 'Smallville' about appearing on the show as Doomsday. His comments are a bit puzzling, as the role has already been cast, with Sam Witwer playing the human counterpart to the character and a stunt person in heavy makeup playing the monstrous version. Still Morgan seemed to say that the character would somehow be tweaked so that he could step into the part is the show went to a ninth season.
However, Morgan spoke with much greater certainty about 'Iron Man 2'.
"I don't want to get myself in trouble," the athlete/entertainer said during the podcast. "I'm also being [cast] in 'Iron Man 2', as obviously a villain. I can't really go into which character I'll be playing yet."
Morgan credits the 'American Gladiator' show as opening doors to these other opportunities.

OK. There really isn't a crisis but if fans want to know who should play 'Thor' in the upcoming Marvel Movie, 'Scott Pilgrim' director Edgar Wright thinks he's found your man:
Well, Michael Cera most likely won't be playing the God of Thunder in the Marvel movie, but he is playing the lead in 'Scott Pilgrm vs The World' and the above photo is just the latest in Wright's ongoing photo-blog from the set of the film.
New pics posted on the weekend also show Brandon Routh, who is cast as one of Pilgrim's many nemeses, and Wright himself, who apparently is hopeful to be the next Lara Croft.

Im a big wrestling fan, and I heard the Matt Morgan rumor last week. Personanly I don't think Morgan has actually been cast in Iron Man 2. And if he has, its probably not as a major villan like Crymson Dynamo or Titanium Man, but probably as a street thug or somthing.
And I know people are going to ask this, but Matt Morgan works for TNA(Total Nonstop Action) wrestling, not the WWE.

My first thought was that Gladiator is Daredevil's enemy and no match for IronMan. Then I read the bit. Agree with xenomorph, probably a thug or henchman. Too bad about Blunt but I think there are better fits for the BW
Not a huge Watchmen fan but I love everything I see from the film. Always liked Snyder and love the way it looks. Can't wait for this. My third most anticipated film of the year.

I think we are overlooking an obvious choice for Black Widow. Jennifer Gardner! Has anyone seen ALIAS. She has the looks, the fighting skills, and you know she can do the accent. You might have to give her a push up bra if you want here a bit bustier like the comics, but other wise she is perfect for the part.
Congrats to Heath on winning the award still upsets me that Nolan didn't get nominated for the Dark Knight and the director of the Reader did. Him winning isn't what was important to me I just wanted Nolan to get the recognition he deserved at the Oscars.
I thought too it was either Vin Diesel as Gladiator for DD or Russell Crowe in Iron Man. I doubt this guy is playing the main villain as well, but he does have the size for Titanium Man or Whirlwind.Sucks that Blunt isn't gonna be BW but like I said before I wouldn't mind Eliza Dushku playing her or Olga Kurylenko from Quantum of Solace and Hitman. She's sexy and is Ukrainian I don't see why she couldn't be BW.
conjags have you heard of a movie called DAREDEVIL? or ELEKTRA? Blackwidow is another lover for Daredevil as is Elektra. I doubt Garner will play either cause unfortunately she was awesome as Elektra. Hopefully she and Ben will reboot that franchise on their own.
