Glenn Ford dies at 90

Actor Glenn Ford, who played protagonists in films such as The Blackboard Jungle, Gilda and The Big Heat, has died. He was 90.
A statement from Beverly Hills police says that paramedics were called to Ford's home just before 4 pm and found the actor deceased. Ford had suffered a series of strokes in the 1990s.
Ford was best known to the public as Clark Kent's adopted father in 1978's Superman.
Ford also had an extensive career in Westerns, usually playing the charming lawman who got the girl and the bad guy usually within the same scene.
Joseph Stefano, who wrote the screenplay for Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho and was co-creator of TV's sci-fi anthology series The Outer Limits, also passed away at age 84 on August 25.
