The final confirmation has been given that NBC is none too thrilled about airing an award show without WGA writers, actors, etc. The network has given full control of the broadcast over to HFPA, the group which runs the Golden Globes. Here's what HFPA had to say..

After discussions with NBC, Hollywood Foreign Press Association President Jorge Camara today announced that the HFPA will have complete control of its 65th Annual Golden Globe Awards Announcement that is scheduled to take place Sunday, January 13 at 6:00 p.m. PST in the International Ballroom of The Beverly Hilton. Under the new arrangement, there will be no restrictions placed on media outlets covering the press conference.

So now, all media outlets can now cover the winners & announcements at the same time if they so choose to...

Damn Writer's Strike for cancelling this fun awards show. If they want a press conference awards show, do the overblown Oscars that way instead.

"fun awards show"

Looks like textbook "oxymoron" to me.

"Unfortunatey, Harrison could not be with us tonight to accept his award. Accepting the award on his behalf is his Fedora."

This is the only good news to come out of the strike, no bullshit rewards show.

I'd rather watch a golden shower. Which reminds me did you hear how they gave BUMBLEPIG her color in PIGFORMERS?
