What They Say
The Gloria familys new tutors are assigning homework-in subjects that arent taught in most schools for young ladies of good breeding. However, despite the eager minds and bodies before them, things are looking grim for the teachers.

Someone is out to ruin the family and they dont care who gets caught in the crossfire. And when a field trip ends in a fight for survival, it becomes obvious that someone wants school to be out permanently! But the truth will out, and when Kira and Beowulf discover whos behind the plot to destroy their charges, therell be hell to pay. The women of the Gloria family wont be the only ones going down!

Contains three complete episodes!

The Review!
Tutors, a Boston location and South African diamond mines all play a part in this strange and slow moving hentai release.

Audio: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
With no dub having been made for this before, we get the original Japanese language track as the only selection here. The track is a very basic stereo mix thats very heavily based towards the center channel. The music is about all that really uses both stereo channels to any noticeable affect, but the dialogue is clean and clear throughout and we had no problems with distortions or dropouts with it.

Video:
Originally released back in 1997, the series has something of a slightly lower budget feel for a Pink Pineapple release from that time. A lot of this comes from the soft and slightly grainy feel to the print, which is only enhanced more here due to the already soft pastel colors that fill a number of key scenes. Colors look good throughout but lack a real vibrancy to them but are nicely saturated. Cross coloration in the show itself is very minimal and aliasing is almost non-existent.

Packaging:
The front cover goes for several nice character shots here, with both Eterna and Mary, both of which sport nice solid hair colors here set against the softer background colors. In the background theres also a pencil shot from one of the more intimate moments of the series that comes around nicely. The back cover provides a few shots from the show and a sliver of artwork for the background here. Theres a very brief summary given to the show and the usual array of production information. The insert opens to provide a pencil shot of the three lead women from the show while the reverse side just lists the chapter stops and what previews are on the disc.

Menu:
The menu layout is a nice image of the elder sister Eterna along the right with the striking colors used around her. Unfortunately, with this particular piece of artwork its filled with cross coloration and that just looks horrible in a menu. The left side has the few selections available as theres little here beyond the show and some of the instrumental music from the episodes loops in the background. Access times are good and menus load quickly.

Extras:
None.

Gloria is one of those hentai shows where you can visualize the script writers sitting at a desk with a set of darts and a board on the wall with standard hentai plot outlines. Thwack! Tutors. Excellent. Thwack! Maids serving a rich family. Solid. Thwack! A little too far to the left, but the setting is in Boston. Thatll give it an international flavor. Thwack! South African diamond mines. Eh, well figure something out.

Tossing all of those elements together, some sort of storyline is indeed here for the basic plot of the three episode OVA series called Gloria. Taking place in the city of Boston, were introduced to two of the best and brightest on the college campus scene, Kira and Beowulf. Due to their achievements in scholarly studies, the Gloria family of Boston has asked them to become tutors to their children and help them prepare for the kind of academic hurdles that are ahead of them as they finish school and move towards the college world.

Kira and Beowulf are definitely up to it since it means staying in one of the biggest houses around and indeed being treated to quite a number of items of elegance, that including the luscious daughters of the House of Gloria. Though the House isnt shining quite as bright lately, due to a Mr. Boone and his company causing some issues for them, theyre still quite the social power in town if nothing else. So the two tutors only have something to gain from this experience.

Their arrival there is noted by at least one of the maids, something that Beowulf catches onto. Their arrival in the house is seen as a threat by someone and he begins to find out who that someone is, though both of them end up in situations where theyre getting some intimate time spent with both maids and daughters of the House. Supposedly some studying must go on, but its not all that evident here outside of a couple of token scenes. The main storyline tends to follow Kira as he ends up seducing one of the maids, the lovely Cecil, and while keeping the young Mary entertained and educated at the same time while not encouraging her curiosity towards the opposite sex.

Beowulf on the other hand goes after the maids roughly and then goes to conquer the eldest daughter while trying to find out what all the secrecy is about with their arrival and who is keeping tabs on them. The plot points mentioned earlier eventually come into play but they feel like they were tacked on like a game of Pin the Tail on the Donkey. What we do get is a number of rather good if regular sex scenes, most of them involving Kira and Cecil, but Beowulf gets his girl as well a few different times. The sex is pretty decent and on par for what was coming out back in this time frame, which means its half consensual and the other half not.

The character designs for the show are actually quite nice, some of them are rather reminiscent of Sonoda due to the eye style. Theyre not terribly explicit when it comes to the sex itself, so its not a hardcore show in the slightest, but it goes beyond some of the basics youd expect otherwise. Mixed with the basic production values of the show, the end result is decent but you know theres better out there.

In Summary:
Once you take away the plot, you end up with a few good sex scenes with various characters and not a lot in the way of kinks or anything else. The sex scenes are good if a bit Spartan when it comes to much going on out of the ordinary, but this is another series thats good as a stepping stone outside of some of the more basic everyone loves everyone hentai. Otherwise, this is a show for those who have some nostalgia for it or just cant get enough light hentai.
