Latest Full Trailer for MAX PAYNE - Aug 30, 2008 - 11:35am
This trailer looks pretty sick. I definitely had some serious doubts about this before, but now, and especially thanks to those awesome vulture people, I just might be down!

Top Maniacal Rumors: Myers Lives, Cher Cat and Van Damme Soldier - Aug 29, 2008 - 12:11pm
Maybe Catwoman, but after Halle's aweful translation...it might turn some people off. However, I do like her arc in The Long Holloween. Stay away from the Penguin Nolan please. Also, I think that Burton used those character's in a wondeful way and that even for him, he grounded those characters in the most realistic way possible.

Alex Proyas Updates on Adapting Dracula's YEAR ZERO - Aug 29, 2008 - 12:03pm

Box Office: DARK KNIGHT Takes Down The Pineapple - Aug 10, 2008 - 05:45pm
Fuck inflation. We're only looking at it from one angle. It's expensive as hell nowadays to go to the movies. Even when I was younger, I remember my mom taking me, my twin brother, my younger brother, and about 15 of my friends to go see Ace Ventura for our Birthday. I can still remember my little brother laughing so hard that soda came out of his nose and he started crying because it stung. Anyway, how many parents are doing that for their kids nowadays. Ticket prices are way too expensive, not to even mention candy. Modern day audiences, for the most part, are more selective when it comes to going to the movies, especially if they're going to see something more than once, and we need to take that into account as well. What were gas prices like when Titanic was out?

DVD Review of Dark City (Director's Cut) - Aug 10, 2008 - 10:52am
Middlerealm, you don't have a DVD player? Do you still listen to 8 tracks?

Ratner and Coto Leading WILD BOYS - Aug 09, 2008 - 08:58pm
Ratner gets a lot of shit. I don't think he deserves all of it. Despite that, I will join in on the Ratner Shatathon. Ratner, you suck fat pink babboon butt.

Box Office Update: KNIGHT Scores Victory Over Brothers and FBI - Jul 27, 2008 - 09:39pm
Wessmith, way to stick by your man. I applaud you. I must admit, I do like some of his early stuff.

Box Office Update: KNIGHT Scores Victory Over Brothers and FBI - Jul 27, 2008 - 06:41pm
Ok, Hanso, I agree with you on the notion that everything pales in comparison to the Dark Knight. That said, I thought Hellboy was a lump of shit. Again, that might just be the case because I saw it after I saw the Dark Knight, but I don't know man. Despite a decent effect here and a slightly interesting creature there, it seemed pretty cheesy and I walked out during the last fight scene which just straight up bored me. .The first one was better. I wanted to kill that dumb bitch from Cruel intentions the entire time. when are people gonna realize that she is truly a bad actress, barely suitable for soft core porn. Doug Jones should also leave the voice work up to other actors, it was bad. I like Guillermo, but he's missing that certian spark that PJ has and I'm a little weary about The Hobbit. Step Brothers had it's moments, but like Hellboy, it just felt stale and the premise wore out really fast like a bad SNL skit. The Mummy has no chance of getting my money. Just like X-files. That movie came out of left field and hopefully comes and goes like a fart in the wind. Lastly, Wessmith..you really like Costner movies? Really?

Mumbling Kitsune: Flipping Through Batman: Gotham Knight - Jul 27, 2008 - 08:34am
I agree. Fat fuckin balls.

DARK KNIGHT Rescues Another $23.1 Mil Friday - Jul 26, 2008 - 10:50pm
Avidfan, I agree with you 100%. No need to hate on Jack's performance just cause Ledger was so good. Also, I saw this video on youtube where a bunch of reporters mobbed Jack as he was walking out of a restaurant to try and get a quote from him about Ledger's death back in January. Jack said, " I warned him." Can't get angry about what celebs say when we shove mics in their face all the time. Anyway, Nicholsen took the Joker to a dark place as well and helped make the original Batman a very successful film. Heath totally respected Jack's role and said himself that he wouldn't dare try and fuck with that performance. However, he knew that this Joker would be a character that existed in a completely different universe, Nolan's Universe. Apples and Oranges in a way. By the way, I had a little movie Marathon tonight at my local cineplex. For the price of one ticket I saw Step Brothers. I watched an entire family walk out of the theatre (spoiler) after Ferrell pulled his balls out and rubs them all over J.C. Reilly's drum set. Funny but the premise starts to wear thin real fast. Then, we snuck into Hellboy which I haven't seen up until a few hours ago. Despite some decent moments, it felt stale and cheesy pretty much throughout the entire thing. I'm a little scared for the Hobbit. I left with some time to spare and did not care one bit. Afterwards, for the icing on the cake, The Dark Knight. 3rd time for me. Still great. I had to leave after the Batpod scene cause my friends neck was hurting and she couldn't stay awake.

SDCC: WATCHMEN Comic-Con Panel Highlights - Jul 26, 2008 - 10:01am
The Smashing Pumpkins jam was such a cool choice for the trailer.

Darren Aronofsky Leading ROBOCOP - Jul 25, 2008 - 10:22am
I'll see anything Aronofsky does. There really isn't a more ambitious filmmaker out there in terms of the types of themes he adresses. Anyway, he hasn't dissapointed me yet. The Fountain is still one of my favorite movies ever made, yes, that's right. If you haven't seen it, get on that. But Robocop, what the fuck?

The Manic Maniac: Agents of Chaos, Agents of Change - Jul 25, 2008 - 10:16am
Cool article.

Comicscape: Character Contrast in the Dark Knight - Jul 23, 2008 - 07:38am
I re-read The Dark Knight Returns before the movie and saw some comparisons, however, after my second viewing of the movie, I re-read the Long Holloween and the Killing Joke and found many shot for shot, line for line adaptations from the latter two. Nolan really did his comic book homework, which is smart for any director. As for Batman as a character, in this film as opposed to Begins, I think he has made a concious decision, Not to Kill, or even let be Killed, like the reviewer states, this was a huge theme in this movie. Besides, Ra's came back acting like a real dick. Also, I think Batman secretly would like to fight the Joker forever.

Batmania! Rise and Shine with The Dark Night - Jul 18, 2008 - 01:21pm
Saw this last night at Midnight and will probably go again tonight with a few friends who aren't as hardcore. While in the shower not too long ago, I came up with a gripe that I would like to share on this wonderful site. Where is the "For Heath" tribute in the beginning or end of this film. Whenever I watch the Crow and the "For Brandon" comes up it always takes me to a new level, I was a little upset that Heath didn't get a similar tribute. Of course, I know that it's not absolutely necessary considering how much hype and drama already surrounds the actor's death and maybe Nolan didn't want an acknowledgement to take away from his performance or from the movie as a whole, but, come on man. Anyway, this movie is gonna make some serious bank.

THE DARK KNIGHT: The Joker's Wild! - Jul 18, 2008 - 11:41am
Hanso, you still haven't seen this shit yet? I had to drive all over Long Island Last night to get a ticket, and everywhere I went was packed out with several midnihgtt showings. I couldn't believe how many people were insane over this movie. I'd say over 50 people had the Joker face paint on, about 20 had the Joker Henchmen masks, and there were at least 10 people in their own cheesy batman costumes. It was awesome. And Hanso, if you haven't seen this thing yet, take a deep breath before the plunge and go in clear headed. Also let me add this note, last night I had a dream that Barack Obama was Batman. What the hell?

THE DARK KNIGHT: The Joker's Wild! - Jul 18, 2008 - 12:44am
First of all, did anyone see the Moon tonight, FUlL, glowing, Creepy ass Moon, totally set the mood. All it was missing was the bat silluette. Getting a ticket was way more difficult than I imagined. I can say one thing, I will pretty much bet the farm that this movie takes the opening weekend spot.Anyway, I just saw this movie, and decided to re-read Scott's review and it's pretty much on point. Mania got a Grade right. "A-" is definitely what this film deserves. It is not a masterpiece, but it is very close. Heath, you are the man. Case closed. Every scene you were in, you owned completely. This was your movie and you only made everyone better. I can't help but think that they changed the ending due to what happened to Heath. I was hoping for Frank Miller's ending...well, let's just say that things felt a little anti-climactic to me at the end. The movie was long, it felt long, and even though I didnt want this movie, this experience, to end, and let me just state that it was entertaining pretty much the whole way through, with many occasions where I straight up bugged out at the awesomeness on screen, it did drag on. I hate when time is capable of creeping in to my movie going experience, it's always slightly dissapointing. However, I did get chills towards the end, not because the ending was spectacular, but because I knew this movie will go down in history as an incredible piece of artwork and as a beautiful and twisted eulogy to a truly great ACTOR. It was a wonderful experience and Nolan and everyone involved deserves serious recognition for this accomplishment, whether it be a handshake, or maybe even an award or two. I can say, The Dark Knight definitely, upretentiously earned the hardy round of appluse it recieved after it finally ended.

HBO's First Look at DARK KNIGHT - Jul 14, 2008 - 01:12pm

New Promo Pic For WOLVERINE - Jul 07, 2008 - 10:57am
Can't wait to see Gambit and Deadpool. This movie will work because after several years of playing the part, Hugh Jackman (Who's producing and will have way more say in the overall outcome of the film),will have learned a lot about what works and what doesn't; taking into account fan reactions, fan expectations, etc. I think he knows that this role is what made him a major player and he's very loyal to it. I doubt he'd screw it up. And no, there won't be sentinels, but maybe a Nick Fury Cameo.

Box Office: HANCOCK Flies into July 4th Victory - Jul 06, 2008 - 07:40pm
Raith, do you mean Momento? Demento is what I call my landlord. Hanso, have a good vacay. I've recently gone into DK overdrive myself and some of my friends are getting a little worried. Hancock didn't interest me in the slightest but I do like the Freshy Fresh.

Bale Will Bail if Robin Shows in KNIGHT Sequel - Jul 03, 2008 - 10:02am
Man, Kevin Smith comparing this shit to Godfather 2. That's pretty serious. I'm trying my best to sheild myself from spoilers and overzealous reviews at this point and I know it will be difficult. What a morbid and fantastic eulogy this is going to be. The Crow is still one of my favorite movies of all time, but I was too young to see it in the theatre. This will be a movie experience unlike anything I've experienced before, for a myriad of reasons. It will be difficult not to cheer when Heath makes his first appearance, and difficult to comprehend when he makes his last.

New Pics Online For FURIOUS 4 - Jun 24, 2008 - 02:28pm
These movies have showcased some of the worst acting to ever hit the big screen. I remember when Paul Walker shit all over Deisil for not returning for the sequel. I see that this time Vin had no problem coming back for more. I hope Walker gets a fatter paycheck even though they both are giant douches who can't act to save their lives. And I don't wanna hear about Running Scared because the only other actor out there made of cardboard stiffer than Deisil or Walker is Hayden Christiansen who I would gladly run over several times in a Toyota Supra.

IRON Launches To Top With 104.2 Mil Debut - May 05, 2008 - 06:13am

New DARK KNIGHT Trailer Arrives Today - Apr 28, 2008 - 02:21pm
Crow Joker?? Haha. Is it because of the makeup, untimely death, or both?? I'm more pissed about not having this trailer right here right now. Although Lazer, I must admit, the first time I saw the TDK trailer, I wasn't blown away. But now, I realize that they're just being very subtle about everything. In fact, I hope I'm dissapointed again by this latest trailer so I don't wander into the movie with astronomical expectations(if that isn't already the case). Anyway, Give me this trailer now Mania! Don't tease me.

Watching the Watchmen - Mar 12, 2008 - 08:07am
The Dark Knight not Batman Begins, but you knew that.

Watching the Watchmen - Mar 12, 2008 - 07:38am
The Crow rarely gets any love or recognition as one of the most faithful and badass comic book adaptations ever, mostly due to the fact that the early to mid nineties really was a bleak time for comic movies, plus the Crow was not that well known. I agree about Blade bringin it back and also The Matrix point is a great one, forget comics, or even action, it changed Movies in general. Superman seems a little lame after NEO did his thing. As far as the entire Comic Book Genre's fate relying on the success of Watchmen... I believe that is really an overdramatic statement, although a great topic and catalyst for discussion (nice article). I think the success of the Wolverine movie will really be important to Marvel. If it sucks, there's really no hope (how can you get that wrong?) I wouldn't be suprised either if Batman Begins becomes one of the highest grossing movies of all time (Morbid Curiosity behind Heath will surely draw a whole new legion of fans) and as long as Nolan is behind the Camera, they're going to be more than good. Can't wait for Watchmen, Snyder hasn't let anyone down yet, although I'm sure Alan Moore will think it's Rubbish.

Two More Gangsters for Mann's ENEMIES - Feb 22, 2008 - 06:35am
Exfan, I agree. How can you follow up LOTR with that Garbage. Everyone involved should have been beaten and shot. 300 he was a little gay too (well the whole movie was overwhelmingly homoerotic). Anyway, this sounds cool, although apparently Dillinger had a really big gun...if you know what I mean.

DiCaprio & WB Developing AKIRA Movies - Feb 21, 2008 - 01:47pm
This was gonna happen sooner or later. It was an inevitability. Anytime I watch Akira I say, this would make a cool Live Action Film, but can it be done? Akira is arguably the greatest anime, possibly animated movie of all time. Can a live action film even do it Justice. I agree it will need an atronomical budget. Two movies? That is cheesy, make one long epic movie like the anime. As for it being in Manhattan...kind of lame. Can I buy Kaneda's superbike after the film is over.

Three More Confirmed for WOLVERINE - Feb 20, 2008 - 10:32am
This movie is taking my geekiness to a whole new level and I'm loving it. All the haters can lick my dirty grundle because you know as well as I do that not only will you be there opening day, but you're going to be salivating as well. Deadpool and Gambit...what else can you ask for...oh wait, Wolverine tearing ass through the entire thing. I'm gonna be giddy like a 10 year old in that theatre.

Gambit is Cast, Dead Pool Update for WOLVERINE - Feb 19, 2008 - 06:02am
There go my boyhood dreams of playing gambit...anyway, I'm psyched to see him in this. Remy and Logan always made a great team and with deadpool as well, those are three wise-crackin ass kickers all packed in together, which is cool with me because they're probably my three favorite characters. Awesome news.

New Toy Reveals CLOVERFIELD Monster - Feb 17, 2008 - 09:51am
I saw this thing a week ago on another site.

DIARY OF THE DEAD - Feb 15, 2008 - 05:55pm
First of all, great review Abbie. Second, I'm actually about to head out to the movies as we speak and this isn't playing anywhere. I will probably see cloverfield just because I havnt seen it yet. Although, on another site earlier today, I snuck a peak at a cloverfield monster action figure and although it wasn't great, it wasn't what I expected and it definitely didn't look "like a pokemon". Wish I could check this out, never would have even wanted to if it wasn't for this very well written review.

BEOWULF: Director's Cut - Feb 15, 2008 - 08:13am

If someone dragged me to see this I would be wishing I could Teleport myself out of the theatre the entire time.

First Glimpse at New WOLVERINE - Feb 14, 2008 - 07:33am
Rock on BUB...Gambit anyone? I heard they were doing some filming down in Katrina Land.

Indy IV Trailer is Attached to JUMPER - Feb 13, 2008 - 01:42pm
Hopefully Hayden Christiansen gets exposed for the rediculous actor that he is and never makes a movie again after this.

Worthington Leads TERMINATOR Trilogy - Feb 13, 2008 - 06:05am
I feel like that stupid sarah connor garbage tarnished this whole series, especially after T3, which although being reasonably cool, took it to the "this trilogy is pretty much done for like the governator's acting career" place. Some stupid fox sitcom just killed it for me. This new trilogy has got to be something completely new and refreshing, and although i know that's exactly what they're going for, after movies like matrix revolutions (reasonably entertaining), I cant see them knockin my sox off, let alone getting me in the theatre.

Gone Baby Gone - Feb 13, 2008 - 05:50am
Why is this on here? Can I get a double burger? I swallowed a bug.

Oldman Toplines New Supernatural Thriller - Feb 08, 2008 - 06:11am
Didnt he say he was gonna retire soon?

Klingons, Super Models & Conan, Oh My! - Feb 08, 2008 - 05:42am
I agree. I like the quick rumor run down. I would be very down with Rob Zombie taking over Conan. Hopefully he takes the whole premise of barbarian to the extreme literal sense of the word. Anyone who has problems with supermodels has problems. Besides, the name of her character is cover girl! What the hell is the problem. And like I said on the wolverine post. Please show us the whole wolverine costume, mask included, and i could die a happy man. I could give two shits about star trek.
