um ok so its either a remake of I robot or Terminator then -pass

While discussing the numerous projects circling around Steven Spielberg and why he just can't seem to commit to just one at the current moment, Mike Fleming at DeadlineNY has revealed at least one of his potential genre productions now has a writer on board.
The site reports that Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods, Cloverfield, "Lost") has been tasked to flesh out a script for DreamWorks' Robopocalypse, based on a novel Daniel H. Wilson will publish in 2011. The project is still Spielberg's to take if he chooses to jump back into the director's chair.
Plot Concept: The story will center on he human race's attempt to survive an apocalyptic robot uprising. Author Wilson released another novel in the same vein called “How to Survive a Robot Uprising: Tips on Defending Yourself Against the Coming Uprising," which was also picked up last year by Paramount.
If Spielberg directs I'm there, if he's involved in another capacity then it's a wait and see
I read somewhere that the author was completly serious when he wrote the books on how to survive a zombe or robot apocolypse.
Meh. I think I'll pass. Unless, of course, as Wiseguy says, if Spielberg directs.
I liked the book better when it was called "The Zombie Survival Guide" and "World War Z"
Hey, if Drew Goddard's writing this crap then it may be tolerable. Just sayin'.
I know I read that wrong, but when I saw Author Wilson, I thought it said Arthur Wilson. That reminded me of one of my favorite Monty Python sketches, The Climbing Expedition, where John Cleese was recruiting experienced mountaineers (two people skilled in climbing mountains) to scale both peaks of Mt. Kilimanjaros. Eric Idle playing the newest applicant, Arthur Wilson 1 and Arthur Wilson 2. The expedition was two find any traces of the previous year's expedition whose goal was to build a bridge been the two peaks of Mt. Kilimanjaros.
