Mania is fully embracing the hype for the return of the King of the Monsters, Godzilla. So be prepared for all the crazy tie-ins that will accompany the film. Today we saw that Legendary Comics has revealed the cover to the official graphic novel Godzilla: Awakening. Check it out below.

To pave the way for Godzilla's return to the big screen, Legendary Comics proudly presents the official graphic novel Godzilla: Awakening. Today, we are excited to reveal the King of the Monsters in all his glory, as we unveil the cover featuring exclusive artwork by acclaimed Godzilla artist Arthur Adams.

This 80-page story, set decades before the film, is co-written by Max Borenstein (screenwriter of the new Godzilla) and Greg Borenstein.

I wish Arthur Adams did X-Men Annuals again. Wow... His work on X-Men Annuals 9 and 10 and the New Mutant Special accompanying X-Men Annual 9 were AMAZING. Truly one of my favorite all-time story arcs and books of art. Some of the best ever Wolverine shots ever drawn in my opinion.

Ditto Calamity. Although, I  still never sorted out that frame where it looked like Wolfsbane was getting it doggy style from the wolf prince. I  am still scarred by that...

CalamityJohnson, agree with you 1000%. Adams artwork with those issues was some of the great highlights of my comic reading at that time!
