this better be fucking god. 2 comicon outings for godzilla and still nothing but blah blah blah...

I could care less about another Godzilla movie unless they find a really unique way to freshen up this franchise.  There's just nothing compelling about Godzilla anymore.  This will be yet another tired retread.

I really want this to work but I tend to agree with DarthBob's overall pessimistic take. Just not sure a giant monster that is the star of the film works today. Only with King Kong of course but that's a whole different story

Has the American movie going public grown too sophisticated for another Godzilla movie?

Are we tired of endless Zombie, Vampire, Batman, Superman, or Werewolf movies?

I think there's room for at least one more Godzilla movie, if they do it right.

I'm still excited. Frank Darabont wrote the script. Brian Cranston and Ken Watanobe, I'm there.

Godzilla update!?!

I thought this would be an important news report of where he was last sighted. We gotta be on the lookout for that guy!

I can't wait to see this on Netflix in low def, when I truly have nothing better to do...

I feel sorry for the studio/ director who has to do this movie after watching Pacific Rim. Now THAT"S how you do giant monster movies!

metalpause 7/16/2013 8:27:41 AM

I really didn't anticipate this kind of reaction from those who post on Mania. I, for one, can not wait for the new G-move!

goirish83 7/16/2013 9:12:53 AM

@metalpause, I agree 100%.  People come on this site and claim to fans of the genre, then blast movies like "Pacific Rim" and "Godzilla".  I don't understand the hate at all.  Maybe they are hoping for the highly anticpated sequal to "After Earth"?

I can't wait until this comes out and hope there is a trailer shortly after Comic Con.
