The only thing I find interesting is DiCaprio's two nominations.  I never really gave this guy the credit he deserved, but after seeing The Departed I just couldn't NOT like him.  Him and Will Smith are easily my two favorite actors, noone else is even close, so kudos on the nominations.

I think judge will not give to clint eastwood a second award. After million dollars baby he make only one movie, can t be twice ! For the rest, I hope hans zimmer will get something, he diserve that. I know him since green card with gerard depardieu, i knew that guy was different ! Even black rain with ruichi sakamoto help, but the music was from him...

Stuff is missing. Where is the guy from "House"? Where are the TV show nominations?

Maybe there are no TV nomination because this was filed under the Movie News section. Perhaps they'll list the TV noms under a TV News listing...

Globes are better than Oscars IMO. At least these are attempting and are getting good coin at the B.O. not like Oscars which really don't usually.

I'm usually only interested in the Globes as an early indicator in the Oscars race. I don't put much credence in their membership - members of the Hollywood Foreign Press need only be non-American and have published four articles in the previous year. Since the pool of voters is so small, they've been notoriously easy to manipulate by studios through gifts, wining & dining, and hobnobbing with the stars.

As for the noms "getting good coin at the B.O.," only The Departed has been doing so among the dramas. The Comedy category has some bigger box office hits, but then again, the Academy doesn't seperate their dramas from their comedies (which makes it very difficult for comedies to even get nominated).

I was glad to see Heroes & Masi Oka get nominated in the TV category. More than anything, though, Michael C. Hall *absolutely* deserves to win for Dexter! His performance is so much more subtle and nuanced than any of the other performances in the category, I can't see how anyone would seriously think McDreamy deserved it more...

Wow, I am the only one who is completely underwhelmed by these nominations? I usually like the awards season and predicting the winners, but this gices me no spark of interest.
