Goldsman On CONSTANTINE

Akiva Goldsman, producer on the progressing CONSTANTINE, has been talking about how the lead character, as played by Nicolas Cage, will be depicted on the big screen.

While talking to Chicago Sun-Times columnist Cindy Pearlman, the scribe turned producer spoke of the title character, saying, "In a nutshell, Nick is a guy who went to hell, comes back and fights demons.

"He finds himself in conflict with agents of darkness called the First of the Fallen. The movie is about how good and evil work like the gears in a clock."

As redaers of the original HELLBLAZER and SWAMP THING comics know, John Constantine isn't a superhero. On this point, Goldsman notes, "He wears a cool trench coat and fights evil using his head, his heart and his emotional unavailability."
