There's really not a hell of a lot going on this morning in the world of genre news. Someone's been cast for an upcoming comedy, another actor cast for an romance and yet another casting announcement for a musician's biopic. Hell, I'd actually take some meaningless JLA speculation right about now and that's saying something...This bit of news is as close as I can find to genre news and that's just because the plot involves crime. Variety is reporting that Kirsten Dunst and Ryan Gosling have been set to star in All Good Things, a new period love story/murder mystery from Groundswell Productions. Andrew Jarecki will direct the film, based on a screenplay he penned alongside Marcus Hinchey and Marc Smerling. Production begins in April on the east coast.
Plot Concept: Set in the 1980s, the story centers on the scion of a New York real estate dynasty (Gosling) who falls for a beautiful girl from the wrong side of the tracks (Dunst). But the fairy tale ends when the girl disappears. As a down-and-out detective stumbles on info that may lead to the truth, the political stakes get higher and people close to the case end up dead.
