Gosling going GREEN (LANTERN)?

Here's your latest casting rumor, courtesy of Latino Review who broke the story earlier this week.

According to unnamed sources (who the Review says are "trusted") Ryan Gosling is the favorite to land the role of Hal Jordan in DC and Warner Bros. 'Green Lantern' movie.

The actor may be best known for his chick flick 'The Notebook', but also drew critical raves for his roles in movies like 'Half Nelson' and 'The Believer'. Could it be that he's ready to break out into action hero mode?

What do you think about the rumor? Does Gosling have the right stuff? If not him, then who? Post your comments below...

Nice. I think he'd pull off Hal Jordan brillantly and you get the indie style acting to go along. Much better than the Seth Green, David Boreanez rumors.

The Seth Green rumors were just sad. Any type of rumor would be a step up from that one.
Gosling's weird face keeps me from picturing him as Hal Jordan even though he's a good actor.
I think Chris Evans could pull of Hal but he's already been used as Johnny Storm.

Hmmm, I could see Chris Evans doing the roll too. But if this does lead into a Justice League film after the solo origin films come out that might come off a little wierd having an actor play a character in two seperate Comic Book teams. (That is with hopes that they keep the same actors all the way through to the team-up)
If that does happen though, its going to be alot better crossover from Marvel to DC than the Halle Berry expierence.

Hal won't be in Justice League. They are gonna go with Stewart. They'll probably have Stewart show up at some time during the GL movie and branch him off to JL. There are a couple of cameos in the GL movie, I think Stewart was one of them though I'm not a 100% sure. I know Clark Kent is supposed to show up at some point. So if that's true they got cast Superman soon for his own movie, this cameo and Justice League. It's gonna be foolish to have a Superman franchise and Superman in JL being played by diff actors.

Damn it I want some credit, I suggested Gosling a while back in spite of his droopy face look. I think he's perfect, he's a good actor, right age, good physical condition and some girls dig him, at least my girl does.

hanso • Oct 10, 2008, 11:16am •
I'll give credit cause you said it. In fact here's what you said then, I know cause it's in my blog.

"What do you think of Ryan Gosling. He has that sleepy look about him but he's a great actor IMO and the right age bracket."

But one of your first picks was the dude from Dexter.

WISEGUY562 • Oct 10, 2008, 11:20am •
True, but you I believe, pointed out his age. Otherwise I think it could've worked or joey's choice of Guy Pearce.

Well thanks for validating my claim, now I can suck my gut in and push my chest out. Though people may look at me funny.

People look at you weird all the time cause you walk around with your tongue hanging out.

Gosling doesn't really look like what I picture Hal Jordan as, but he's a good actor. And, really, that's the greatest requirement of any choice for these roles. I'd be happy with him getting it.

ByronTheHero • Oct 10, 2008, 04:01pm •
I honestly think it's a good choice.
