Looks good.  Will give it a shot.  Hope like heck it will ultimately spin-off into a Batman TV series sequel down the road, likely by jumping into the future and getting an older Bruce Wayne...that would be cool.

The only concern I have is that its on FOX...

The better the show, the more likely Fox will cancel cuz that's how they roll!

goirish83 5/5/2014 8:38:51 PM

Fox will somehow find a way to screw this up, as usual.

Muenster 5/5/2014 9:11:04 PM

goirish, Fox is not the producer nor the distributor of Gotham. Fox is the televisor. If any group screws this up, it will be Warner Bros. and DC.

Based on that preview, DC/Warner Bros. have already loused it up by creating yet another Batman Universe that is non canon.

I'll check it out and the trailer looks cool, but forgive me if I remain skeptical.  Lots of trailers these days look good, but the final product just doesn't deliver.

Anyone else get the vibe that they're trying to replicate Smallville?  Obviously Batman's origin story is a bit darker than Superman's, but I'm sensing the same aspiration.

Dazzler 5/6/2014 4:09:26 AM

Won't be Smallville since Gotham will be darker in stories it looks like.  I don't get why they make such downer depressing shows these days.  Even Arrow is leaning toward more darker stories.  I would rather have comic shows that are more lighter that save people from bad guys that we don't need to know why they went bad in the first place.  I think a live action Spider-man not dumbed down for kids would be cool.  Sure they mess with his live getting fired, making rent, killing a girlfriend every once in awhile but the stories are there that are interesting.  Makes me wonder why they can't get a Punisher show off the ground.

Good lord this show looks depressing. Still can't go over how Catwoman Jr looks like that freaky chick from Splice.

I also see this as a decent premise but not 22 episode seasons for 4-5 seasons. Will remind the overstayed welcome of Smallville.

Definite pass on this one. A bunch of Marvel Netflix shows around the corner.

Actually looks better then I thought.  Its a comic show, so I will give it a go, but not devote too much into it (Fox will cancel after 1-2 seasons).  @Dazzler: I'm hoping the new Flash series will be just that. Flash has always been (imo) lighthearted.  At least in the comics.
