Fox, our favorite channel for canceling our favorite genre shows, released their fall TV Schedule this week. We have an official start for Gotham, Animation Domination, and Sleepy Hollow. Check out the full schedule below. Will Gotham survive FOX?
Press Release: On Monday, Sept. 22, origin story GOTHAM (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) kicks off.  The series follows one cop, destined for greatness, as he navigates a dangerously corrupt city teetering between good and evil, and chronicles the rise of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes. The entirely new, untold chapter comes from executive producer/writer Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist,” “Rome”) and stars Ben McKenzie (“Southland,” “The O.C.”), Donal Logue (“Vikings,” “Sons of Anarchy”) and Jada Pinkett Smith (“Hawthorne,” “Collateral”). The second season premiere of the adventure fantasy SLEEPY HOLLOW (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) follows, picking up immediately after the thrilling multiple cliffhangers that left Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) buried alive and Lt. Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) trapped in purgatory.

Sundays get re-animated beginning Sept. 28, with the season premieres of THE SIMPSONS (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT), the return of Golden Globe-winning live-action comedy BROOKLYN NINE-NINE (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT) on its new day and time and FAMILY GUY’s (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) special one-hour “The Simpsons Guy” season premiere crossover event. Emmy Award-nominated comedy BOB’S BURGERS (7:30-8:00 PM ET/PT) and new multi-cam comedy MULANEY (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) join the lineup one week later, Sunday, Oct. 5. MULANEY stars Emmy Award-winning writer and comedian John Mulaney (“Saturday Night Live”) as a rising stand-up comic trying to take his career to the next level, and the friends and mentors, including one played by Martin Short (“SCTV,” “Saturday Night Live”), who lift him up, hold him back and push him around.

Gotham got a terrible schedule.  It bumps heads with several  wildly popular, highly rated shows.  The Big Bang Theory, The Voice, Dancing with the Stars, WWE Monday Night Raw and NFL Monday night football. This is going to be a show that will probably be recorded on DVR's for watching on a different day or it will be watched On Demand.  In any case I suspect it will get killed in the ratings and it will be a miracle if it survives that unfortunate time slot.

Gotham, like Smallville before it will probably always be in a terrible time slot, but almost always have a very small devoted audienece, and will most likely stay on the air for a few years because of heavy international syndication profits.

Then again...
