Governator Ready to Rejoin PREDATOR?

By: Jarrod Sarafin

Keeping in mind that producer John Davis was just speaking his mind in a roundtable discussion over the weekend, he still had something interesting to pass along to Frosty over at Collider. It seems that the Aliens vs. Predator franchise may be put on hold for now while 20th Century Fox instead focuses their efforts on resurrecting their Predator franchise again.

There's also an indication that Arnold Schwarzenegger could be involved one way or another. Here's what Davis had to say on the Fox franchise.

John Davis: Well, the Governor has mentioned to me that when he ceases to be Governor, if he doesn’t run for the Senate and all of that stuff, he’d like to do a movie or two again. And I don’t know, maybe we could restart the Predator franchise.

So is the AVP franchise on hold for now?

John Davis: I think we’ve logically done what we could’ve done with the two AVP movies. But I think there’s something to go back to with Predator .

I wouldn`t mind seeing another Predator movie with Arnie in it. It could be kind of like the latest Rambo flick in that he`s old and living in some place where people start ending up skinned and their skulls taken. He recognizes it as the Predator and after some generic special forces team ends up being slaughtered Dutch has to go in an deal with it himself.

"I think we’ve logically done what we could’ve done with the two AVP movies. But I think there’s something to go back to with Predator."

Translation for those of us who don't speak retarded producer, "We fucked up the first two AvP movies so badly that nobody could possibly want to see another, so we've got to find someway to revive interest in this franchise."
