Governor Schwarzenegger
By: Patrick SauriolDate: Wednesday, October 08, 2003
It's Governor Schwarzenegger now.
Last evening Hollywood superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger opened a new door in his rags-to-riches career by winning the majority of the California vote for governor. Schwarzenegger replaces outgoing governor Gray Davis who was recalled from office only 11 months into his second term. Davis enters the record books by becoming the second American governor to have lost his seat by a recall campaign.
Now that Schwarzenegger has won the vote and will become the next governor of California, any plans movie studios may have had for new Arnie movies are derailed. While the producers of TERMINATOR 3 may have a contingency plan for a fourth film to be made without Schwarzenegger, the KING CONAN project may have lost all hope of ever being made -- or at least until Arnold is out of political office.
Schwarzenengger becomes the second cast member from PREDATOR to be elected to governor, following Jesse Ventura's earlier rise to the seat in Minnesota. Perhaps Carl Weathers has political aspirations too?
