Goyer hints at BLADE TV series

It looks like things are getting better and better for one of the best comics-to-film transitions of the last decade. As things are moving forward on the third and final BLADE movie, it seems the mythology of half-man, half-vampire Blade and his neve-rending fight against the undead will be moving to TV.
According to a quick interview, David S. Goyer, the screenwriter behind the BLADE trilogy, he and New Line Television are exploring ideas for an eventual series.
"I just had my first meeting with the television department at New Line, and we were kicking around different ideas," Goyer told SciFi Wire. "It's premature for me to talk about it, but there are two separate directions we're thinking of going in... I want to make sure that the BLADE TV show is a separate entity from the BLADE films so that it's not just a lower-budget version of the films. I want to do something that's different and fresh and unique and will give people a reason to tune in. I'm not sure if that means a prequel to the BLADE movies, going with a much younger Blade, or the converse, a much older [character]. And there's another approach that we're thinking about that would be much more radical than that."
