Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes production company just got a bit busier as did writer-director David Goyer. They have a new supernatural thriller (untitled) in the works for Rogue Pictures, says the Hollywood Reporter. Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller of Platinum Dunes are producing. Platinum Dunes are also working on the remake of the cult-vampire film NEAR DARK and the remake of THE BIRDS. Production on this new supernatural thriller will begin in Chicago in February 2008.

Plot Concept: Follows an 18-year-old who realizes she is slowly being possessed and then begins to fight back.

Let me just state, unlike most people, I am all for remakes. It brings it to a whole new audience, and it never negates the original, so I don't know why everyone gets there pubes twisted into dreds!! Oh boo-hoo, I loved this movie,,,,wah...wah... So, you still have it. I don't get it. You'd be surprised if you do some research how many "Classiscs" are either remakes or reimagingings of other movies or books or whatever. Anyway, I like Goyer and I really love Bay, so I say bring on anything they do.

I think alot of the remake resentment stems from Hollywoods inability to come up with anything new/different.

Whiskey I agree with the first part of you statement with my only problem being that sometimes they don't wait long enough or just don't improve on the original and yes, I know that's a matter of opinion.
As for Goyer, I like most of the work he has been associated with. However as a director I'm not convinced. I know he has only directed 2 or 3 films. Hopefully he'll improve and bring it up to par with his writing.

Goyer's directed two films to date: Blade Trinity and The Invisible. I really don't see why so many seem to think his directing stinks, though. I thought Trinity was directed well, but I haven't seen The Invisible yet so I can't comment on that.

I think Goyer is a very talented writer, but I could see this story going down very familiar territory. I also wish he wouldn't write teenage characters so often as leads in his films. This type of story could be a lot more interesting if an adult were the center and not a kid.

sorry rgtchtiger, Blade TRINITY was terrible..from the directing to writing. I loved Goyer from day one, but I think him directing is him biting off more than he can chew at times.
