Goyer's Supernatural UNBORN Trailer Appears

By: Jarrod Sarafin

The first trailer for writer-director David S. Goyer's supernatural thrilller The Unborn has appeared online courtesy of MTV. The next Goyer film, after last year's The Invisible, stars Odette Yustman, Gary Oldman, Cam Gigandet, Meagan Good, Carla Gugino, Jane Alexander, Idris Elba, Rhys Coiro and James Remar. Goyer penned the screenplay for Universal's Rogue Pictures and directed. You can check out the trailer below.

David Goyer's next slated directorial project is X-Men Origins: Magneto, if 20th Century Fox approves the production.

Plot Summary: Casey Bell (Odette Yustman) hated her mother for leaving her as a child. But when inexplicable things start to happen, Casey begins to understand why she left. Plagued by merciless dreams and a tortured ghost that haunts her waking hours, she must turn to the only spirtual advisor, Sendak (Gary Oldman), who can make it stop.

With Sendak's help, Casey uncovers the source of a family curse dating back to Nazi Germany—a creature with the ability to inhabit anyone or anything that is getting stronger with each possession. With the curse unleashed, her only chance at survival is to shut a doorway from beyond our world that has been pried open by someone who was never born.

The Unborn will hit theaters January 9, 2009.

Great another movie I shall pass on. Man, how did Oldman end up in this? It's gotta be a favor cause of the Bat movies. Dude talks about not acting again but shows up in this, weird.
Why on Earth is Goyer attached to Magneto? Did they not see Blade Trinity?

Talk about giving away the entire plot.

Oldman has been singing that tune since Lost in Space, at least. It's just a bargaining chip IMO. The guy is a hell of an actor. He is the only reason I may see this cause Goyer sucks as a director. The man needs to stick to writing.

hanso, completely on point about Goyer directing Magneto.

New tagline: "This January, the devil gets aborted!"

I hated Trinty as much as the rest of you, but not every director is good their first time, some of them do several movies before we even hear of them. I'm willing to give him another chance. Most writers should be able to make the transition from screenwriting to film easily. Writer's see the movie as they are writing it, now the trick is to put it on film. I'm sure for him Trinity was a learning experience. Surely he will be better with this. Did he direct The Invisible, because if he did, it was much better than the last Blade, plus the writing in Trinity sucked too so he just blew that whole first movie thing. Not everyone can be Chris Nolan and put out an amazing film like The Following for their first movie... and then some just get lucky and never do it right again.

I think you guys are missing the point here.

Odette Yustman is so insanely hot I'm going a little crazy just watching the trailer. Wow.

This shit looks pretty damn freaky to me....
Sportwarrior is right though.... she is hot.... almost as hot as Megan Fox.

Damn, I just read the piece and scrolled right by the trailer.
It does look like it may be good. But Goyer has a lot of making up to do for Blade3 and Invisible

Not sure why everyone hates Trinity so much; I rather liked it. And this trailer actually looks creepy.
