20th Century Fox and Marvel Entertainment have signed FRASIER's Kelsey Grammer to play Beast, the oversized blue-furred creature, in X3.

SNATCH's Vinnie Jones has been hired to play "bad-guy" Juggernaut. Jones' character is a 6-foot-10, 900-pound metal-clad battering ram, who is the half-brother of Professor X and will anchor Magneto's villainous band.

Fox has also begun talks with LOST's Maggie Grace to play the role of Kitty Pryde, a beauty who can walk through walls.

why not use the actors from X2 for Kitty and Beast?

that would help with the little stuff, but kelsey is a good choice and one they should've made for X2. I imagined someone a little more bulkier than Vinnie Jones playing juggernaut though.

X-Men is still X-Men. Its a sci-fi action popcorn movie that would always be interesting as long as Wolverine is still around. It is rich in characters and to dwelve and highlight them would give more depth in the future. Bringing in the new characters looks to be in parallel to the Ultimate X-Men storyline of Juggernaut & Beast joining the fray. There are a lot of stories to tell but having the Dark Phoenix Saga would certainly be the best.

HA HA! This is a great choice if he doesn't have to be seen. For some reason I don't see Kelsey Grammer doing cartwheels and summersaults while in battle. I think he has the perfect voice for the roll though.

Jewel Staite (Firefly/Serenety) would be a better choice for Kitty though.

Well this continues the tradition of a new actor for Kitty with every movie.

I'm having real trouble with this - and I'm surprized that you other readers are not. 'Frasier' is a big affable doof. He ain't no superhero. Can you really see him taking someone out - with guts, with conviction? I haven't read X-men for years, but I doubt Beast has been reduced to a nice guy with a comic's chops. I think Kelsey's just going to look stupid and out-of-place covered with muscles and blue fur. This is a disaster.

Hey, you know how it works in the movie business, dealing with fans especially, any one that tries to jump into a well-known role get criticized only to prove their critics wrong: what about Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man, I was yelling at my tv when I heard the news, but he delivered the Peter Parker character well (as far as Spidey, not sarcastic enough) and Christian Bale as Batman, I laughed the first time I saw him in the batsuit. What these casting directors are doing is casting their characters first (i.e. Peter Parker, Bruce Wayne) and leaving their alter egos up to the costume and special fx folks. In a weird way I'm sure you can see why they would cast Vinnie Jones as Patrick Stewart's bigger half brother. Of course some choices are completely publicity stunts, like Halle Berry as CatWoman but if you trust a franchise and you trustthe people who've worked on it, you should trust the decisions they make and the actors they choose.
