Green Goblin image from "Spider-Man 3"

By: Karl Schneider
Date: Wednesday, January 24, 2007

The official Spider-Man site has released some new images, one of which features a young Harry Osborn in some Green Goblinesque gear.

You can see the image to the left.  There are also more images at the site which you can find here.

In the film, a strange black entity from another world bonds with Peter Parker and causes inner turmoil as he contends with new villains, temptations, and revenge.

Spider-Man 3 hits theaters on May 4, 2007.

KJ's Take:  He looks foolish.  Absolutely foolish.  Raimi made Harry's father look like an idiot and it seems he is attempting to out-do himself in the third film.

I liked the first film, loved the second, but something about the third one is screaming Pirates of the Caribbean 2 to me ...

I have faift on sam raimi, i follow is job sice evil dead, he always surprise me, even in For love of the game, or simple plan...So siper # will be great ! One more thing, if we only look at the costume, what about the make up of the thing in fantastic 4, was great rigth ! But the movie was crap ! So please prepare yourself to do your meaculpa soon KJ !

You are, of course, correct exfan.

And I will gladly eat crow if this film turns out to be as good or better than the second film. I am crossing my fingers and hoping. That said, Osborn looked awful in the first film and Harry looks awful in that picture!

In Raimi we trust.

Rigth ! Raimi is not that kind of guy who will screw the job because of the amount of investment in the project. Producers let him do what he do best, so for the third, I am sure we won t be desapointed. Beside, Pirates, it s completely diifferent story, the movie come from a disney parc attraction...So after the succes of the first episode they have no choice than do more, more pirates, more action, more, more...Spider as 20 years of amazing story behind, it s nothing to worry about...

I have to agre with KJ. I have been saying this for awhile, this movie is going to crap. It will turn out like SR, and that is not a good thing. The Green Goblin's costume is TERRIBLE!!!! Is he going to go fight Spider-man or go snowboarding? SERIOUSLY!?!!?

Come on collector ! Because of the glasses ! Give him a break, when you see the costume of the dark side od spidey, it was great rigth ! so you maybe only see half in the pictures, but i can stop my self laughing with your comments....

Well, considering they way Norman Osborn looked, i don`t see a problem with Harry`s suit. He`s not actually out to be a super villian. He just wants the means to kill Spiderman and get revenge. I honestly would have preferred that Norman had the comic book costume in Spidey 1. To me the one he had seemed more unrealistic than just a purple/green suit with a halloween Goblin mask. The whole military issue suit was kind of cool, but not what I was hoping for , for the Green Goblin. Harry`s doesn`t look much better, but it makes sense as a natural progression from his father`s suit. He should have something on his head though. He looks like a green version of the Rocket Racer(I think that`s his name) He was a 3rd or 4th tier Ironman or Spidey villian.

If you think this movie is going to suck based on his suit, you`re an idiot. That makes no sense. I have faith in Raimi to pull this one of and to say this is going to be anything like Super Returns, is equally idiotic. The 2 movies are in totally different places in their mythos. Making it like SR would be going backwards. Collector, You haven`t said a positive thing about one news story on this site so I don`t know why I`m surprised.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it...too many cry babies complaining about something they have not seen on the big screen yet...I suppose all you cry babies(that are complaining that is) would have liked the original comic book look? Good question, think about it, a greem goblin with long pointy ears and a long witches like nose. Come on..Or maybe I'm off base here but either way there is no satisfying you comic book geeks and there never will be...I can almost bet that all of those who have negative appinion about this movie will be standing in line shelling out $8 too see it...It all goes without saying it will be a roller coaster of a movie with great drama and good action...

GG2 should just be a repaint to get the point across and to remind Spider-man that he killed his father. Simple storyline idea that should have been used. But he is not the main bad guy so who cares anyway. He should get his ass handed to him early. I bet he gets killed in movie anyway. Since this will probably be the end for most of these characters anyway if they move forward with another movie.

Harry's not the new Green Goblin, but a man going over the edge of sanity for revenge. He's just using his father's tools to get the job done. Actually, he looks more like Sandman from the Justice Society of America. I don't have a problem with the suit, but since he's flying around, wouldn't it make sense to wear a helmet? Heybe he'll have one. Raimi's done a great job on the first two films, and I haven't seen anything to lead me to believe part 3 won't be great, too. Raimi's only mistake was the Green Goblin costume.

"Osborn looked awful in the first film"

Yes, because as we all know, a rubber mask & suit would've looked SOOOO much better.

Puke.
