HANSO!!!!   Glad the Lakers won it was kinda anti climactic to me anyways.  LeBron wouldn't have done any better and Orlando just got beat by total experience!!

Nike will have to update the Kobe/LeBron puppet commercial and make it 4 rings!

Well onto the news.......Wanted 2 I didn't have any expectations for the first as I only went in cause TDK was sold out and enjoyed myself.  So i'll take the same approach on 2.  I did like the game for what it was so I may have to mind wipe myself (heavey drinking) before seening the 2nd.

Captain America- So is it a fact that Steve Rogers is coming back as of now?  I've been reading for a while and haven't really seen any clues except for the black page and sheild.  I was enjoying Bucky's run as Cap.  I'll still read I just really got into just prior to and after civil war.  It's been a good read for me.

What up folks , as always I do enjoy reading your comments , and I do agree with you guys about Skarsgard as Captain America and he was great in Generation Kills, and If you checked out True Blood last night , I think you'll all agree we want more Eric, However I just cant see him as Thor , Just cause the guy has Blonde Hair doesnt mean he should be Thor. I've been avid reader of the Thor titles over the past 25 years and have seen all the different incarnations of the title character, what I have not seen thought is a skinny Thor. He might make a great Donal Blake though. However,I'm sorry let Skarsgard be Cap, I like that idea, but we need a Triple H sized actor who can act, Hunter was horrible in Blade 3,  to play The Thunder God. Asfar as Marvel bringing back Cap , everyone who reads comics knew It was going to happen especially if they are doing a Movie, so no Big surprise there. As Far as Wanted 2 , what i wanted was a movie which that was even close to as good as the books and It failed miserablly , Im sure alot of you out there loved it, my question is how , if you guys are so brutal about minor things in movies like I consantly read you rip apart then how In  all that is ASGARDIAN, could you have liked that movie. I thought that it was as bad as wolverine , which by the way is the biggest piece of crap that I've seen in a while. It made Spider man 3 almost ok , I said almost. I mean im still trying to explain to my son who is 10 and loved Orgins that none of what he saw ever happened in any of the books or any reality except for Fox's.

oh yeah and WISEGUY562 Ant man isnt what Marvels other title may be, that already in there , they are kicking around 2 other franchises one being Dr Strange and the other being Black Panther to cocide with BET's cartoon that is going to be airing soon, I hope. I also read that they may be actually looking to do Namor  and that would lead into the Avengers

Akira being dead has made my day. Fantastic. Proof there is a GOD.

CaptAmerica04 6/15/2009 4:35:02 PM

I'm with SgtTech... basketball and their wannabe gangstas, baseball and their whiny, spoiled bitches... this is why I read comics for my heroes.  They don't disappoint.

At least until they bring a nobly deceased hero back from the dead only 2 years after his demise, thereby removing all gravitas from this event of his death and again reducing comic books to nothing more than 4-color daytime soap operas.

Joe Quesada should be buried alive in the same mass grave along with the likes of Dan Didio, Kobe Bryant, Barry Bonds, and OJ Simpson.

CaptAmerica04 6/15/2009 4:37:16 PM

Oh, and I still say that Josh Holloway is the best choice to play Cap in the movies.  When he shaves, he's got the square jaw goin. And his eyes have the intensity that Skarsgaard lacks.

I love how when movie adaptations come out and people's pussies are so hurt because of it.  I mean - if the Akira movie did come out - how would that ruin the original in any way except for getting people hooked on it who might have missed it or passed on it originally - like say the Watchmen?  Fan boys are morons.

I said it long ago - everyone said it was too soon for the ads to be Steve Rogers related but he's coming back.  Now, I wonder if Bucky is going to return as Bucky or the Winter Soldier or maybe he'll become the new Patriot Son or whatever the new guy on Osborn's team is called when the Osborn mess is all over and done with.  I doubt the last one and I doubt he'll return as Bucky (sounds too kiddy) a little less.

middlerealm 6/15/2009 5:17:20 PM

Did i say a live action Akira would ruin the original for me? Um... No.
The reason I didn't like the idea of DiCaprio doing it was that he planned to change it too much. From what i can remember he planned to set it in the US, NeoManhatten or summit like that instead of NeoTokyo among a long list of other things, and have the principle cast as americans. It wouldnt be Akira then, would it? It'd be something else entirely very loosly based on Akira. Maybe things changed and before it was canned, they had actually decided to keep with the original story, in which case I appologise, but i doubt it.
I thought the original was brilliant, and i couldnt give a damn what films are remade, rebooted or whatever, it doesnt change the original for me. All i said was it should be given more thought. I would love to see a properly adapted live action Akira, just not done by Hollywood.

" this is why I read comics for my heroes. They don't disappoint. At least until they bring a nobly deceased hero back from the dead only 2 years after ..."

Really? This is the first time that comics have disappointed you? If, then you are much more tolerable than me.

Anyway, I honestly don't think that they should have kiled Steve Rogers off in the first place. It just screamed publicity stunt. They just ended the Civil War, Cap lost. There were a million other things they could have done, but they decided to go the Superman route. I like Bucky as the new Cap because he`s pretty bad ass, but I miss Cap being the sort of moral compass of the Marvel universe. I don't know if its too soon because after Secret Invasion and now this Dark Reign shit, someone`s going to have to shake things up a little for the good guys.

After watching True Blood last night, I think Skarsgard would have made a great Thor. I guess I could see Cap, too but he's kind of too tall. He`s liek 6'4" and has long arms. Doesn't really have that Steve Rogers look to him.

How the heck are they going to bring back Jolie for Wanted 2. I mean we not only saw her get shot through the head, it was in slow motion so there wasn't much doubt. It was a goo movie though, so we`ll see.

And once again for the dude in the other post that said the guy playing Snake Eyes is american. Get your facts straight. Ray Park is a  Scot.

WarCry 6/15/2009 6:44:51 PM

Wow! Skarsgård as Cap! What a brilliant idea! If only I'd thought of it........and been saying it for months and months........

The height isn't that big of deal. Steve Rogers is 6'2" (according to the Marvel bio), Skarsgård is 6'4". If you're going to tell me you can tell the difference in 2" on the screen, I'm gonna call BS.

As I've also said any number of times, it doesn't matter if a non-American plays Captain America. It's a fictional character, and he's already played the real deal (because Generation Kill is a TRUE story, if ya didn't know). That's just more excuses for fanboy-attitudes of "But it's not what *I* wanted!!!"

fft5305 6/15/2009 9:45:20 PM

Hey WISEGUY, your comment about bringing back other actors gives me an idea. What if, assuming of course, that Thor is successful, Skarsgard shows up in the sequel as Thunderstrike? That would be bad-ass!!

In reference to Jolie coming back for Wanted 2, I think Timur mentioned the healing pools as a possible explanation.

I'm glad the Akira movie is dead.  I know I'm in the minority here, but I really didn't care for Akira. I'm not a big fan of anime, but everyone else is so crazy about it, I was hoping Akira would bring me around. I wanted to see what the big deal was. I still don't see.
