On top of Ryan Reynold's comments from the Wondercon about his upcoming summer tentpole Green Lantern, Warner Bros. Pictures has decided to reveal an abridged 4-minute version of some of the footage being shown this week at the convention as well as CinemaCon.

The studio has placed the footage online at Apple's iTunes Movie Trailers in HD Quicktime. Check out the new footage at the link and sound off with your thoughts.

The film stars Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Angela Bassett, Tim Robbins, Temuera Morrison, Jay O. Sanders, Taika Waititi and Jon Tenney. Director Martin Campbell led from the helm, based on a screenplay by Greg Berlanti, Michael Green, Marc Guggenheim and Michael Goldenberg.

Green Lantern will fly into 3D/2D theaters June 17, 2011.

Thanks to Wiseguy and raa2001 for the submission.

The villian of the piece looks like he gets his powers similair to the Leader from the Hulk film.  And, he grows a huge noggin too.  The space stuff looks good.  I still see Reynolds as Wally West Flash and not Hal Jordan, but I hope he knocks it out of the park.

This does look pretty epic.  And I don't know if they've tweaked the effects since the first trailer or whatever but the costume looks a little better.  All those assembled Green Lanterns and Sinestro...EPIC...

SarcasticCaveman 4/2/2011 11:52:45 AM

I honestly don't mind Ryan Reynolds, but yeah, he would have been much better as Wally West's Flash...or Kyle Rayner, actually IMO.  Still looking forward to this though.  And again, so glad I'm not a fan of the comics.

Wiseguy 4/2/2011 11:54:59 AM

Now that looks pretty fan-effing-tastic if you ask me. I can't see how anyone can keep hating after this. This has just moved up several notches and may be just a tiny fraction behind Thor and Cap.

Hammonds origin is being taken from GL Rebirth apparently, that's cool with me since that made his connection to GL stronger as opposed to his original origin.

I think Parallax is the main bad guy though. This truly is going to be epic.

@Duckbeaver, I believe they have tweaked the cgi a bit. I have been saying that for a while going by some of the pictures since the first trailer. I think it looks a lot better. And yes all the GLs being in the movie with none of that "keep it real" so prevalent in some comic book films has me excited. Can't wait for this

Okay, watched the footage after I posted my first comment...I'm all in.  Still think he would have been a better Kyle Rayner, but the movie looks GREAT.

I was skeptical when the initial trailer came out but with this new footage I am 100% excited for this film.  To Wiseguy's point about being a tiny fraction behind Cap and Thor....... I have GL just the slightest fraction ahead of Thor and Cap now.

Fantastic shots compiled just for this, sure. It looked good, but I'm still reserved on this one.

McQuestion 4/2/2011 12:28:27 PM

This has surely bolstered my confidence in this film. I think I'm still into Thor and Cap more, but with this newest footage, it looks like this is definitely going to be a fantastic summer with Green Lantern completing the trifecta. I cannot remember in all my 39 years when I've looked forward to so many well done superhero movies in one movie season.

Captain America: The First Avenger

Green Lantern

This just looks great. I will see all the films multiple times, I have no doubt. Hopefully, DC superhero films will be boosted by a great performance from Reynolds and GL and Warner will get some more characters into overdrive. I love Marvel, but I love DC too and especially appreciate healthy competition between the two. It's us fans that benefit most from that.

Bring on the summer of superheros!

In the words of jay of Jay and Silent Bob "I think I just filled the cup"

This movie is going to kick ass. Ryan Reynolds is a greeat choice.... now get Bradley Cooper to be guy Gardner.

violator14 4/2/2011 12:50:04 PM

whoa! Ok, i was one of those guys that gave this Green Lantern movie a hard time, but I think this footage has me very optimistic and excited to see this finally! It does indeed look epic!

and I've said this 100 times as well on here in which I agree with u guys;

Ryan Reynolds shoulda been FLash, and Bradley cooper as the GL would have been ideal !!! ..... dammit.....

Btw.... how the hell can anyone defeat the GLs dudes ?? do they have a weakness??
