Uggg... GL is going to be such a steaming turd. Good thing we have Cap and Thor to look forward to.

Wolverine... I'm cautiously optimistic about this one.

LOL...Young Blood? Yeah right!

I really don't think Akira should be done live action. Its a classic. Leave it alone.

Thanks animefanjared. I do know it is a fairly serious series. I keep hearing about the quality though and AMC does right by way of its original stuff. Seeing Hamm interviewed and in some of the funny shorts I've seen give me the impression he's a great actor, very professional, but with a great sense of humor both self-deprecating and otherwise and speaks to the probable quality of the show.

Is it something I can just jump into or would I be best served starting out with the first season on Netflix?

of course I'm kidding.

and I agree, as long as they are focused on a Youngblood movie, it gets their hands off projects in the comic and film industry.

I'm still baffled at the studio willing to fork over 150 million for this movie. Maybe they think Leifeld is still working for Marvel and Yougblood is a Marvel property.

Violator, I'm with you on the casting of Rynolds as the Green Lantern. I too believe that they should've saved him for the Flash, his personality suits that character more. However, having said that, he's not the worst actor for the part either because last I checked, the Green Lantern character he's playing in the movie, Hal Jordan is sort of a quick-witted smart ass similar to the Flash's Wally West. So given that, Rynolds should do well with it.

Thank God ElBaz13! There are some deranged folks on this board who would agree with you on both counts.

Ratner and Youngblood...

Let's take a few moments to let that sink in...

Talk about the blind leading the blind!

Green Lantern looks decent but I wasn't in awe.  Hopefully they will polish up the CG more before finalizing it.

I was underwhelmed with the CG effects in the GL clip.
I liked how the suit "appears" quickly, instead of a slow crawl or overtaking.
However the helicopter scene looked awful as did the slow motion fall of that building sign.
The shots of OA were decent enough, and Kilowog (sp?) was great, but something about the rest looked very low budget CG to me.

I like Reynolds, and really thought he fit Dead Pool spot on.
Hopefully we haven't seen "the best" in this trailer.
And hopefully it gets "cleaned up" before it is released.
Otherwise, it will end up being a huge dud and set DC back even further!

ddiaz and anybody else interested,

The Thor Comic-Con trailer is still up on a site called movie-list. I can't put the exact link on because Mania doesn't allow it anymore but if you google for that site then put in Thor for a search on the site you'll find it.

All the news listed today sounds good to me. GL looks fine but with more humor than I expected.

After seeing last week's Smallville with Granny Goodness it makes me hope Mr. Miracle, Big Barda and Oberon show up this season.

The whole X-men series in general hasn't lived up to my admittedly high expectations but Last Stand was the worst of them.  (Somehow worse than the first Wolverine for that matter)  Had they just done Dark Phoenix Saga, with Juggernaught keeping his frigging helmet on, it might have passed muster.  I loved Colossus tossing Wolverine in the air, Kelsey Grammer as Beast and the Storm/Callisto fight but that's pretty much it.  Using this movie as an example of "good comic movie" is laughable at best.

Wolverine- Not overtly connecting it to any previous movie pleases me.  But I don't particular like the word "The" in the title. Granted, I've always disliked Batman's titled modified as thus so maybe it's bias of some kind.

I will wait for ET's actual GL story before strongly expressing an opinion but their empasis of "Gossip Girl's Blake Lively" implys to me that we comic geeks aren't the audience they're catering to for this report.  (Hal's "clothing comment" further illustrates my point.) I don't like the mask but I didn't like it on Chris O'Donnell either...
