Cooper, Reynolds and Timberlake said to be the final three candidates for 'Green Lantern'. PLUS: Superman to arrive on 'Smallville' in season 9? 'G.I.Joe' wants to come to your home town. 'Ninja Turtles' casting call and more! More concerned about Main Street than it is about Wall Street, it's your Comics2Film 9.7.10!

Superman to arrive on SMALLVILLE Season 9?'s Michael Ausiello teases that we might see Tom Welling don the iconic Superman costume in the upcoming season of 'Smallville'.

When asked for scoops in his recent column, Ausiello says, "The iconic 'S' symbol will be all over the show in season 9. Including on Clark's chest."

Ausiello also addressed rumors that there is some kind of 'Smallville' movie entitled 'Metropolis' in the works.

"My peeps at Warner Bros. are still insisting that some drunk fan probably made that up nothing like that is being discussed at the moment."

G.I JOE Destro Mask Revealed? has a high-quality image from some toy packaging of what they say is the 'G.I.Joe: The Rise of Cobra' version of Destro. The image comes straight off the back of a toy shipment they received from Hasbro.

It looks to us pretty similar to the classic Destro of old. Click through and see for yourself.

JONAH HEX Toon In The Works

The Comics Continuum reports that fans can watch for an animated 'Jonah Hex' short in the near future. The mini will apparently arrive with the home video release of one of the upcoming DCU animated features like 'Green Lantern: First Flight' or 'Superman/Batman: Public Enemies'.

Joe R. Lansdale, creator of 'Bubba Ho Tep' and writer of many great Jonah Hex comics in the 1990s, is penning the script for the film.

The Continuum could not get confirmation from Warner Bros, but we know the site has numerous moles embedded deep in the animation biz so the 'Hex' toon is a likely bet.

Actor Rainn Wilson, quirkmeister supreme at 'The Office', has fans buzzing with his latest TwitterFart:

"@rainnwilson and @nathanfillion are about to go meet with DC COMICS! Could be some good shit percolating..."

Fillion has twittered before that he's taken meetings with DC, leading us and others to speculate that he may be involved with some upcoming animated movie or (a less likely situation ) a live-action movie. And lets not rule out that the pair could be working on an actual comic book as well.

Fillion previously voiced the role of Steve Trevor in the animated 'Wonder Woman' movie.

Cooper, Reynolds and Timberlake the GREEN LANTERN Final Three?

Fans on the internet have been wondering over the question of who will be the big-screen 'Green Lantern' for months now.

Last night The Hollywood Reporter ran a story suggesting that the studio has narrowed the list to a final three: Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds and Justin Timberlake.

Back in May, broke the news that Cooper (who is heating up after a strong performance in the spring hit 'The Hangover') was a candidate although the actor later downplayed the rumors.

Reynolds seems to be a name dropped on every potential superhero projects these days, although there hasn't been a lot of past rumor-mongering that attaches him to this specific project.

The big surprise is Justin Timberlake, who's name got floated by the internet rumor-mill only yesterday, just hours ahead of the Reporter's story. While many fans have been bristling and the attachment, Timberlake has actually been building a credible acting resume over recent years, with buzz-worthy roles in 'Alpha Dog and 'Black Snake Moan'.

According to the report, Warner Bors had arranged a holding deal with the actors (that is, they agreed to hold off on taking other parts) although that deal expired on Monday. So now, the studio needs to close with one of them before all three move on to other projects. However director Martin Campbell, producer Donald De Line and the suits at Warner Bros each like a different guy, hence the delay in making a decision.

The Reporter also claims that the projected budget for the sci-fi heavy movie is between $150 million and $200 million and WB isn't ready to commit to that price tag.

What do you think, Maniacs? Should Green Lantern have a hangover? Should he be an ab-crunching jackass? Or should he have his d*** in a box? Post your comments below...

xenomorph 7/10/2009 7:16:28 AM

Cooper. Definitly Cooper.

finnishline 7/10/2009 7:18:03 AM

Reynolds is already Deadpool.  Cooper deserves it.

longzot 7/10/2009 7:56:56 AM

Cooper.  Hands down.  When did the Green Lantern become an intergalactic showman?  No way Timberlake gets it.

Darkknight2280 7/10/2009 8:24:46 AM

Cooper!! He looks the most like Hal Jordan and he doesnt look to young, he looks mature and masculine (not that Reynolds doesnt), Reynolds is an ok choice i wouldnt be sadened by it by any means. Timberlake is a decent actor (really liked him in Alpha Dog) but this role isnt right for him.

jedibanner 7/10/2009 8:42:36 AM

I think we all agree if Timberlake is in this, it will be crap!!!

I mean....Timberlake??? Screw thatc rap.....he is not an actor and he shouldn't believe he is an actor.

todd890 7/10/2009 9:01:09 AM

It has to be Cooper.

gauleyboy420 7/10/2009 9:32:58 AM

I disagree jedi.... Timberlake is actually a good actor, BUT I'm voting for Nathan Fillon

makabriel 7/10/2009 9:40:31 AM

I've got to second that, gauley.  Timberlake can act.  And judging from the pic above, I'm going to have to say he looks the best for the part, even though I'm a big Reynolds fan..

galaga51 7/10/2009 9:52:31 AM

I have not seen Timberlake act except on Saturday Night Live, but Ihe did better than most actors.  That said,... Cooper.
