I'd be surprised if JT got the part but not shocked.  The kid can act.  Having said that, giving him the part would be a huge gamble.  Personally I don't think WB has the grapes.

BRADLEY COOPER! Come on Warner Bros., let Timberlake do his Saturday Night Live thing, don't screw up Hal Jordan. Plus, Reynolds has Deadpool, let him do that, thats the Comic Book movie role he was born for.

As I said in another post Hal Jordan needs to have the swagger that the astronauts used to have in movies like The Right Stuff, he's a test pilot who can nail every girl he winks at, then go off and kick ass on an intergalactic level to me, after seeing The Hangover, that attitude is all Cooper. Fingers crossed that my favorite DC hero ever doesn't get messed up.

Still saying meh on G.I. Joe, although Transformers actually had a lot more giddy nerd moments for me than I thought it would, so maybe after a couple months if I'm passing by the dollar theater G.I. Joe might get the wild hair up the ass viewing.

Oh, and about damn time they finally put the S on Welling, should have happened 3 seasons ago.

It has to be Cooper.

Tevii 7/10/2009 10:34:53 AM

Please dont let this be the final three....

HAL HORDAN LOOKS ROUGH not these pretty boys.

Hes a mans man

Even Brian Austin Greene after his Terminator run proves hes a better choice

dusk83 7/10/2009 11:16:08 AM

Bradley Cooper = Kinda see him as Hal
Ryan Reynolds = No but I see him more as Wally West (The Flash)
Justin Timberlake = HELL NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Wiseguy 7/10/2009 11:24:38 AM

Wow, really hate those 3 for the role. Love Reynolds but his wisecracking ways are taylor fit for Deadpool. Timberlake is just not manly enough, if you will, for the role, I don't think he could  pass the women's bootcamp. And never really liked Cooper from his Alias days. But if you put my feet to the fire it has to be Cooper. Let's just hope that the report is complete bullshit, especially since I believe they may go with JT to draw the fairer sex and knowing the fanboys won't boycott just for that.

Hell, I'd rather go along with Tevii and vote for BAG before those 3. And WB needs to open up that wallet, Green Lantern is the effing man, don't skimp on this. 200mil doesn't sound like a lot now a days when you take into account all the cgi needed for this, to visit Oa, to showcase the powers of the ring and all the different aliens.

Hope that Smallville rumor is true and Clark finally graduates to Superman

SteveVortex 7/10/2009 11:34:24 AM

Out of that list, it better be Cooper.

I am beyond excited for this movie and if they think Justin frigging Timberlake is HAL JORDAN material, then they have never read a Green Lantern comic... and the movie will probably suck anyway.

Reynolds is Deadpool end of story.

Whats with all the Timber-hate? I didnt like the guy UNTIL he started acting. He's funny, he was badass in Southland Tales (best part of the movie if you ask me) and he's done well with the dramatic stuff like BSM and Alpha Dog.

Unlike prof. chaos, I've always been pretty apathetic about GL. I say give the guy a chance.

hanso 7/10/2009 11:50:14 AM

Oh fuck no.  Seriously, fuck Brian Austen Green.  Never mention him for anything that isn't meant to be straight to dvd or tv.

What up with Henry Cavill? The article says he along with 2 other dudes also were on the shortlist.  That's 3 times the cat is going to be left out of a superhero dance.  He read for Batman, Superman and GL.  Poor bastard.
