Grudge 2 Soundtrack Out Today from Varese

Horror music maestro Christopher Young returns in fine form to the horror genre, where he cut his musical teeth (and those of many musicians, most likely) in the 1980s, with his score for The Grudge 2, released today on CD by Varese Sarabande.

The Grudge 2 explores the dark secrets of the grudge as the terrifying supernatural curse is unleashed on a group of seemingly unrelated victims. One by one, they are infected by the grudge, which quickly moves from a burned-down house in Tokyo and spreads to everyone who crosses its path.

More of a direct sequel to the 2004 American remake of The Grudge than the Japanese follow-up to their own original Ju-on: The Grudge (2003) was, The Grudge 2 stars Amber Tamblyn along with Sarah Michelle Geller, and sees director Takashi Shimizu return from the first film (and its Japanese originals).

With The Grudge 2, composer Christopher Young conjures his latest opus in a long line of horror film music masterpieces.
