What?  You think a movie featuring an anthropomorphic raccoon and a walking tree could be campy?  C'mon, at the end of the day, Joss Whedon is still overseeing the whole shebang.  I have faith that if it's going to be campy, it's going to be campy in the good, Joss Whedon way.  That said, I don't want either of these actors close to this movie either.  I'm a somewhat fan of both of them, but I'm not sure I want to hear their voices in the movie.  Besides, doesn't Rocket speak with a cockney accent?  I'd love to hear Vinnie Jones provide his voice.  Super British tough guy voice coming from the raccoon with a rocket launcher.  Brilliant.

Another thought - does anybody else think that Marvel has had a fail yet?  I know not many were wowed by The Incredible Hulk, but I thought it was still pretty good...liked it a lot better than Ang Lee's movie.  I think the only movie fails from the Marvel universe have been through Fox and Lion's Gate.

 I get what everybody is saying but who would've thought Knoxville would ever star alongside the great Arnuuuuld? (The Last Stand) Hopefully J.C would get the part over A.S but its just rumours at this point everybody.

I concur with my Maniac brethren:  Carrey would likely be fine voicing Rocket Raccoon.  Sandler should just go away.  Allow us to remember Happy Gilmore and forget everything else that he ever did, and just move on.  (Oh, and he should take his buddy Rob Schneider with him into the Fields of Hollywood Obscurity.)

 10 to 1 Jim Carrey is more likely to get the job than Adam Sandler. Just cuz Jim Carrey has crazy range on his voicing abilities.....and Adam Sandler just sucks........but im sure u guys already know that. 

 One of Jim Carrey's best CG performances was The Mask...imo.

Sandler can be the crap they use to fertilize Groot. Ground up Adam Sandler. That would be ok.

 Adam Sandler has one of the best films out there that very few people have seen - Punch Drunk Love. He CAN act when he puts his back into it.

Both of these are a big "no" for me, though. Everyone keeps saying Rocket Raccoon, but he should NOT be comediec relief. The only comedy should be in his appearance. Besides that, he should be a bit of a badass with a Napolean complex. I don't see Carey or Sandler pulling that off. You want a suggestion, put Adam Baldwin (Firefly, Chuck) in that role.

Mostly, though, I think they should go the way Marvel's done with other movies: Get someone that's a good actor and catch them on their way up (Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth). Robert Downey, Jr is an anamoly, but Marvel basically resurrected - or at least reinvigorated - his career. It was catching lightning in a bottle, though, and I don't think Carey or Sandler can pull that off.

To be fair...Everyone though Chris Evans was so bad a choice for CA but he turned out to be beyond excellent for the role...maybe if Marvel continue their ''overview'' of the project it could make something out of Carey or Sandler...still not sold on the whole idea overall but, if they get the rigt people it could be saved...can't be worsed then Ghost Rider.

 I wish I could have the time I spent watching Punch Drunk Love back, WarCry.  Ugh.  I know what it was trying to do, but for me it failed miserably.  It's supposed to be a drama, yet too many scenes would be perfectly interchangable with any other Adam Sandler comedy.  His freak out in the restroom at the restaurant?  Would have been hilarious with a different set up.  The pillow talk between him and his girl?  Hilarious anyway, but did nothing for the story.  I didn't think it was claw-my-eyes-out Magnolia bad, but it really did nothing for me.
