I'm with Warcry. I do think Sandler can act, if given the chance. I loved "Punch Drunk Love". And I think he showed some range in "Funny People" and 'Spainglish".  Problem is...PDL made $17 million. "The Waterboy" made $161 million. People sure do hate his movies when they come out, but they sure make a nice chunk of change for him.

I would venture to say, that comedians have some of the best acting chops out there these days. Tom Hanks, Robin Williams, Jim Carrey, Steve Martin....all have done rather well in dramatic roles. I don't think Sandler is in this class...but, I do think he pull it off a lot better than people think.

Of course, this is all my opinion. I am in the camp that is rather sick of movies like "Jack and Jill"..but, with a worldwide gross of $150 million (doubling its budget)...they won't stop anytime soon.

Without knowing what role these guys are being considered for it's hard to judge. It could be for a bad guy or just a minor role as some other alien

Still I could see JC pulling off either Groot or Rocket Raccoon.

Sandler, not a fan of his. I only saw 1 of his films at the movies but I do admit to having really liked Punch Drunk Love. Very good sort of dark romantic comedy

I am so excited for this film. I think I would be excited for this even if it wasn't a Marvel film.

Keep both Sandler and Carrey far, far away from our Marvel movies. After all, Jim Carrey successfully destroyed the character of The Riddler in the Batman series.

Ahh yes, the Riddler, one bad character and let's just write him off for good.  Once again, the Sandler Hate is a mystery, he's had good roles, he's not exactly Shakespearian but he's not Steven Seagal either.  I can see him providing the voice for Rocket Racoon, I've read the books and RR isn't comedy relief, he's a bad-ass warrior who just happens to look like an anthropomorphized racoon, and I think Adam's deeper more gravelly voice fits the character better than Jim Carreys.  Carry I think would fit more as the "voice" of Cosmo the telepathic russian retriever, if they put Cosmo in it.

FerretJohn, that's exactly what I was tinking. No one has mentioned Cosmo yet. I'm currently re-reading War of Kings and Cosmo has some pretty sarcastic/funny content in it.

Do we know if they are going to start introducing these characters in the upcoming movies? Has there been mention of Adam Warlock? In my mind, you can't have Thanos without Adam.

It's risky to make this movie but if it works it could be a modern day star wars. Marvel hasn't put a foot wrong for a long time so I am actually feeling quite positive about this movie.... as long as Sandler stays far away from it

It has been said that Rocket Raccoon speaks with a cockney accent. On that note, get me James Marsters talking in his Spike voice as Rocket Raccoon and I'll be good. Not to mention the obvious connection to Mr. Whedon. The dude has already said that he'll be down for anything Whedon wants.

If Sandler gets it he can round out the rest of the cast with his usual band of buddies. Casting is DONE.

On the serious side I personally can't stand Sandler, he keeps putting out that trash and yet people keep seeing his films.
