It's all over the internet but I haven't found an actual "Confimed" story yet. Apparently, Roberto Orci Tweeted that the "rumor" was true a bit earlier

 I've been a fan of marvel comics since I was a teenager and you would think that they might make a reference at some point to the guardians of the galaxy say in one of the x-titles or something like that. Nope. Never even heard of them. And they're talking of putting the Thanos storyline in this movie? Are the writers on LSD perhaps?

jedi I can tell you that most of my non-comic reading friends didn't know ANYTHING about Wolverine or Iron-Man and certainly not The Mask before their respective movies came out, so same goes for GoTG they will take it on face value, just like the others...
