Marvel and Disney have released the official Guardians of the Galaxy featurette for Peter Quill (Chris Pratt). We have less than 17 days to go!

Synopsis: From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel's “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy's fate in the balance.
Guardians of the Galaxy features Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, featuring Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Nova Prime Rael and Benicio Del Toro as The Collector.
Guardians of the Galaxy arrives August 1st, 2014.

I am really starting to warm up to this.  I think this movie will do well.  My dad, who is a good representation of the general public (he enjoyed the latest Transformers), said this movie looks like a lot of fun.

Not sure how to say this without insulting your dad.  If he enjoyed the latest installment of the Transformers, I don't want his opinion.  That being said, This does look to be a lot of fun.  Not quite the typical marvel movie, but one that could thrive on its own.

At first they fooled Us with that one song thru out the trailer , giving the impression it was a  total comedy , now wahat they show is a visually Good CGI film . They put some serious cash behind the film. Now We wait and see.

Loving this more and more - Can't wait for Aug 1st! Seriously hoping for some good easter eggs and 1 off character intro's. Hoping someone had the foresight to MAYBE elude to or even show in some manner the Starjammers and/or the Supreme Intelligence (yes, I know I'm really streching here, but let me have my dreams, I have so little else...LOL)

MarvelHead71 7/16/2014 7:14:02 AM

Side note......anyone else wondering if Yondu will have the full fin (added via CGI) or if they're going the short mohawk route as we saw the production stills???? (Seriously hoping for full fin)

Eldogg42 7/16/2014 9:14:49 AM

I believe they confirmed the short mohawk as in the stills.  As far as the Starjammers go, Those are the property of the X-Men, and probably not allowed to mention them directly.  The Supreme Intelligence on the other hand, I believe has a good chance of being mentioned.  Ronan is Kree, so I don't see how they can't mention the Supreme Intelligence.  The more I hear Cooper as Rocket, The more I like it.  At first I didn't see it, But he sounds great.
