InnerSanctum, the Ant-Man movie (according to Edgar Wright) will feature the Scott Lang version of Ant-Man.  Hank Pym will appear in the film as the 60's version of the character, who passes on the tech to Lang.  Maybe Pym is retiring in order to have more time to focus on robotics?

I'm sorry guys but this Guardians film sounds freakin awesome to me. Love the idea of the Marvel cinematic universe going cosmic. And yes, Thanos needs to be in this film just from a marketing standpoint it would be highly beneficial. He needs to be introduced to the general public so they know who he is and what he is capable of leading right into the Avengers. Audiences liked Loki because he was recognizable, they knew who he was. So many people had no idea who Thanos was when he showed up at the end of Avengers. I had people asking me if that was Red Skull and a few people I wanted to smash in the face with mining equipment who asked me if that was Hellboy. I would love to see more cosmic characters introduced such as Adam Warlock perhaps Ego the Living Planet or the Celestials, maybe the Watcher. Surfer needs to be brought back to Marvel although that isn't happening for a long time. Thanos would be the natural villain for GOTG since Gamora was raised by him. And Marvel, please take this opportunity to perhaps introduce Phyla-Vell and maybe Moondragon so we can finally get some lesbian action in a comic book film. That would certainly help bring in a whole new group of fans.

@Wise, not to mention the way technology has improved when rendering CGI fur (Rocket Racoon). Folks think it will look corny. But I think Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and can easily see how kick ass they can make Rocket Racoon look.

Would the film rights to Starjammers / Corsair be owned Fox?? I wonder.

I hope they find an actor with an actor with a distinctive voice to provide the voice of Rocket Racoon. This could be the most Disneyish of the Marvel films yet, by bringing in some of the Pixar people to design him.

Wiseguy 8/18/2012 12:35:55 PM

aicn is saying that James Gunn is Marvel's top choice for this.

Super and Slither were both pretty good dark comedies and Marvel really does think outside the box. I thiunk this could work. I can see that sense of humor being translated to this

SarcasticCaveman 8/18/2012 3:45:02 PM

I'm given to understand that Rocket Raccoon speaks in a Cockney accent...I think it would be hilarious to have him voiced by Vinnie Jones - a real tough guy voice coming from a f***ing raccoon...priceless.

ElBaz13 8/18/2012 8:16:08 PM

mmm...let's see here. What connections do James Gunn and Joss Whedon have?

Yup! Nathan Fillion!

Who can play a smart-aleck 20th century pilot/astronaunt leading a ragtag of rebels in outerspace?

You got it. So does anyone think Fillion will be Peter Quill? I never followed Star-Lord but I remember hearing how he was such a jack ass when he first appeared.

@ElBaz- You read my frakin' mind. I immediately thought about Nathan Fillion playing Star Lord as well. I was just watching Slither the other day so my mind immediately jumped to that. Vinnie Jones would be funny as Rocket Racoon but my mind jumped to another Whedon actor, James Marsters using his Spike cockney accent.

SarcasticCaveman 8/19/2012 12:59:30 AM

I could TOTALLY see James Marsters, death4sale.

redvector 8/19/2012 10:32:26 AM

Yeah, Marster's accent as Spike was so good that I'd thought for a long time that he was a Brit actor. But Fillion might have difficulty commiting to a GOTG movie with his commitment to Castle.
