Christian Gudegast hasn't directed a film since 1995's God of Rockability but he will stepping behind the camera again, thanks to the production company behind this year's Statham thriller The Bank Job. Gudegast will direct the new bank heist film called Den of Thieves, based on a screenplay that he's been developing with Paul Scheuring for nearly a decade, reports Variety. Relativity Media has grabbed director Christian Gudegast to lead their next vehicle while Mark Canton is producing alongside Relativity's Ryan Kavanaugh and Tucker Tooley. Bender and Spink exec produce.

Benderspink recently brought Gudegast and Scheuring's screenplay to Relativity, which enjoyed modest success with this year's heist drama The Bank Job.

Plot Concept:
The story centers on a thief who's planning a heist but gets trapped between two sets of criminals.

Christian Gudegast is also attached as a screenwriter for the big screen adaptation of Hawaii Five-O, which is scheduled to hit theaters in 2010.
