After yesterday's press release from Bandai Japan about their plans for Gundam Unicorn Vol. #3, a lot of people were left wondering if they would be forced to buy it from Amazon Japan. That press release wasn't exactly clear in that they were promoting it as a worldwide piece but aiming the actual text more at the Japanese home market so they understood what was going on with it. The third installment of the series is formally set for the US and we're seeing it starting to pop up in places, such as Right Stuf which is now taking orders for it and presumably Amazon will follow soon as well. The third volume is going to retail for $60 and will be released on April 7th, 2011 with a runtime of 60 minutes for the bilingual same-day worldwide release on Blu-ray.
Story concept: The year is U.C. 0096. Three years have passed since the end of the Second Neo Zeon War.
It is said that the Vist Foundation manipulates the Earth Federation and Anaheim Electronics from behind the scenes. Hoping to create a new world, the Foundation attempts to hand over a certain secret to the Neo Zeon remnants known as the Sleeves. This will mean the opening of Laplaces Box, which holds a great secret tied to the origins of the Universal Century.
