I never thought I'd be writing the words Guy Ritchie and Sherlock Holmes in the same article but here it is. Variety is reporting that the Snatch director is taking on the charge of bringing a new mystery adaptation of the iconic investigator to the big screen for Warner Bros. This adventure will be based on a new "Sherlock" comic book by Lionel Wigram and Dan Lin. The studio is looking for a 2010 release.
Plot Concept: The logline remains under wraps, but executives at Warners are aiming to reinvent Holmes and sidekick Dr. John H. Watson. Wigram's noted that the new Holmes would be more adventuresome and take advantage of his skills as a boxer and swordsman.
