Hairy paws might be in store for director

Director John Whitesell (MALIBU'S MOST WANTED) is in talks to helm CATS & DOGS 2: TINKLES' REVENGE for Warner Bros. The sequel to the 2000 family picture is getting prepped for filming and will probably roll before cameras sometime next year for a summer 2005 release. The sequel's script was penned by the first film's original writers, John Requa and Glenn Ficarra, but Tab Murphy is polishing it up presently.

No word on which original cast members and voice talent would be back in the sequel, but judging from the mention of the evil cat genius Mr. Tinkles in the sequel's sub-title, Sean Hayes would be a necessary ingredient.
