Haley is too short! Hes a great actor and everything but seriously we need this to be great casting since the rest of the cast is less then steller. Haley seems to me like the studio is thinking "he kinda looks the part everyone liked him in Watchmen, lets get him on this!" NO! Green Lantern has to be awesome! My dreams of an amazing GL movie are quickly being crushed.

And so the DC features continue on to failure(with the exception of TDK of course).

As far as the Spidey "reboot" I definitely don't wannna see a "Twilight" style web-slinger. But, having said that,if you put a pair of large, round-framed glasses on him he would look dead on like Steve Ditko's Peter Parker.

As to Sinestro, while I think he could probably pull it off, Jackie Earl woldn't be my first choice, either. Even though I initially thought  Hugo Weaving would be a great choice (and i still think he would be), the more I think about it  the more I really like the idea of Jason Issacs in the role. If he brought the attitude he displayed in "The Patriot" I think he'd be just what the doctor ordered.

Oh! And if Abin Sur is in the script (and he damn well better be) how about Lance Reddick from "Fringe?"

I want to know what kind of actor this Robert Pattinson is. Has anyone seriously watched that Twilight crap? I will not so I will never know.

Is he a competent actor? Does he at least have skills? I ask because I do not judge an actor or actress by the movies that they are in. Be it Vin Deisl, who I believe is a pretty good actor. Seriously watch"Find Me Guilty". His performance in that is pretty damn great not to mention Pitch Black.

But back on the subject matter. Robert Pattinson. Does he suck? He kind of does look like he could be a good Peter Parker on a visual level with a little work. I don't judge him solely on the fact that he was in Twilight. I just want to what kind of skills the guy has.

Who I thinks sucks monkey balls. Keanu Reeves is one. That poor bastard could not act his way out of wet paper bag. I am hoping that Pattinson is better then Reeves at least.

Axia, Pattinson doesn't have a huge body of work to look at yet. He was decent in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Twilight's hard to judge because I think the weak spot there is the material, not the performance.

I just don't think he had the 'look' for Peter Parker. Much like Batman, whoever is INSIDE the costume doesn't matter. You've got to cast for Bruce Wayne, and you've got to cast for Peter Parker. Tobey Maguire was actually an excellent Parker. His "evil twin" Jake Gyllenhaal has a good look for the part, but if they're going back to the start, I'd say cast someone closer to actual HS age rahter than a mid-to-late twenties who looks more like the principal.

I like Jakie Haley, but I agree about the height thing for Sinestro. Unless they're going to CG or at least digitally alter the character, I just don't think he'd be right. On the other hand, I'm still hyped about Reynolds as GL. The only downside I see is that it causes delay in production of Deadpool.

Latest word from Martin Campbell is that Mark Strong is in talks to play Sinestro. He has no idea where the JEH rumor came from!

It looks like a new frontrunner has come up and he seems like a good choice.  His last villainous role in Sherlock Holmes was awesome.  Mark Strong.

I say it is ok with me if Robert Pattinson gets the job.  He has enough skills apparently and looks more like Peter Parker than Tobey Maguire did IMHO.  Just make him get ripped as hell.  He needs to put on about 20 pounds of beefy muscles before I say it is good for him to do the job well enough.  Because Spider-Man is slender but ripped as a brick house.
